Firbolgs
With flat noses and large, pointed ears, Firbolgs are a strange site when compared to the more common races. Standing between 7 and 8 feet tall, it is theorised that there is some form of giant's blood in their makeup. However, despite their size, they move with a slow, careful pace, their movements betraying their more docile and peaceful nature. Firbolgs typically weigh between 240 and 300 pounds, and have quite a powerful build - if riled up, which may take a lot, they are not to be trifled with!
Firbolgs mature slowly, reaching adulthood at around the age of 30. Their peaceful, hidden nature has meant that death is not a common factor amongst their Clans, and this combined with their extended lifespans (sometimes up to 500 years) has meant birth rates are low. This does not phase the Firbolgs, as they are very good at keeping out of harms way. Male Firbolgs tend to grow facial hair, which is often unkempt and long, and have wider, flatter faces. Females do not tend to be that much different in build, but lack facial hair, keep their hair long and have a slightly more elegant look to them.
All Firbolgs have natural magical abilities, both being able to disguise themselves as others and being able to go completely unseen. They also seem to have an innate ability to communicate with plants and animals, but how this is done, none really know.
In an instant, The Firbolgs were created, their task to bring peace, balance and harmony to the forests of Vastalia. They did this promptly, carrying fertile soils in sacks from far and wide to spread. The forests thrived, and bought about all sorts of wildlife to Vastalia. But the Firbolgs duty was not at an end. They were tasked to watch over, protect and guide nature, silent and unseen guardians of all that grew.

Origins of the Firbolg
Legend amongst the Firbolgs ties them closely to their fey-ancestry. It is said that thousands of years ago, the Gods of the Fey-Realm knew very little of the other parts of the world, focusing upon Astiria and the Elves that lived there. But one day, their eyes wandered for a moment, and saw the continent of Vastalia. Without the touch of the Fey upon it, the forests of Vastalia were dark and dying. The Goddess of Nature, Silthara, wept and pleaded with the other Gods to do something about the dying land. And with this, Arawaan, Goddess of Life and Death cast her hand out towards Vastalia. Finding Firbolgs in the World of Varda
Staying close to their forest homes, Firbolgs are found in wooded areas across the continent of Vastalia. Very rarely they will leave the safety of their homes, with their eternal quest to guide and protect nature. Occasionally, a Firbolg may leave, often being granted some important mission by their Clan Elders. Sometimes, particularly troublesome Firbolgs may be exiled for crimes against nature, and forced to find a life for themself elsewhere. Firbolgs are typically found in forests in the following countries:- Therrezia
- The Royal Colonies
- The Shattered Kingdoms
