Hurgotlen

The Hurgotlen believe they were once much like humans or elves, but the truth has since been lost to time, as has the story of how the Hurgotlen curse came to be. The people believe their ancient ancestors were responsible of a heinous crime, for which the gods punished them, cursing them with spiked horns and bronzey skin. Since, the Hurgotlen have tried their hardest to earn the respect of their gods. Often they do so through hospitality and politeness, but more importantly the Hurgotlen consider themselves responsible for holding the beasts of the deep at bay: those exoskeletal monstrosities found deep in the pits of the desert of Hurg'Til'Toh.

Hurgotlen people stand apart from other races in the World with their large spiked horns and metallic, shiny skin, which varies from dark copper to light bronze. The skin is only similar to metal in appearance, however it does provide some protection from the harsh desert sun as a result of its reflective nature, as well as from the dangers of the desert's monstrous denizens.

Hurgotlen people are often resilient, highly-respectful, and resourceful. The reflective and heat-resistant properties of their metallic skin enables them to live in desert conditions with little protective clothing: it is often a sign of pride among Hurgotlen to be clad in less clothing, but humility is also respected.

Hurgotlen are a playable species in The World of the Power.
