Common Knowledge for Pathfinder Players

For new players participating in Pathfinder sessions set in the Hegemony of Mistoria, here is some bullets of information your character could have as common knowledge.

• The planet you are on is named Haven, named after the fact your ancestors fled to and settled on this world 25,000 years ago
• You can be from one of the 7 commanderies of the Hegemony of Mistoria. Alternatively, you may create your own nation and land that you are from.
• The head of state is the Hegemon, Aelius Victrix. The 80th Hegemon elected by the Conclave of Six.
• Magic, commonly termed as "Arc", can be channeled by many creatures and sometimes objects. It allows users to not only spellcast, but also excel in supernatural abilities
• The technology of this nation is equivalent to 19th-20th century modern Earth, but it's channeled through arc. Many conveniences are common in Mistoria through spell gems that store mundane functions like lighting, communication, and air conditioning. Airships are also a common sight
• Arc is easier to channel through simple weapons like swords and bows which is why they're still preferred over more complex weapons like guns. Arc can act as a protective barrier from physical damage to which some call it the Soul Guard. (In game, it explains hit points)
• The most common religion is the worship of the Celestial Founders who led the settlement of your ancestors
• Reincarnation is the primary belief of an afterlife. The world survives on a cycle of spirits and souls to maintain a balance of life and nature. However, some souls are found noble enough to be chosen to serve the Celestial Guard among the founders
• Over 800 years ago, mind controlling Aboleths swept over the country of what would become Mistoria in the current timeline. Ovylia Victrix led a crusade to liberate the land, but nearly failed at the final confrontation when the Aboleths summoned demons to turn the tide. Ovylia perished, but her crusade was saved by the Celestial Watch who came from the heavens and intervened for the first time in thousands of years. The moment was named, Heaven Fall and marks the beginning of the Post-Heavenfall (PH) calendar
• The Sentinels are Mistoria's primary intelligence organization for internal and external threats
