Structure of Az's solar sysytem
While Az is the only planet in its solar system to harbor life, it is not alone in orbiting its sun, for which there are many names, though most scholarly denizens call it Aume in recognition of the Vull'jorg, whose astronomers were first to discover its true nature. Alternatively another common name is 'Loud Star', as put by a particularly musically-minded astronomer of the Long Stretch.
Moving on to the other planets orbiting Aume, there are three who precede Az; Nior, a small, boiling husk, Griss, a similarly scorched world which appears to gleam a brilliant chromatic colour when seen from Az due to the exposed metallic ore on its surface. Leaving Min'az, quite literally 'Sister world' in the Vull'jorg language, again harking back to the fact that most names for celestial bodies have been adopted by this culture. Min'az is a dusty desert planet, appearing a sickly green as a side-effect of the copper dust suspended in its atmosphere.
This leads us to Az. A world found within the supposed 'Goldilocks zone', Az meets all the requirements for life to flourish on it, a world similar to our Earth with the difference being it is slightly larger with a different tectonic structure. Az also distinguishes itself by having two moons, Gori'kar the larger, and Liri'kar the smaller moon which orbits around Gori'kar.
After Az, Shuj'sar: the world of steam. Shuj'sar is unfortunate, in that it almost qualifies for bearing life, if not for the fact that much of its surface is highly heated due to huge volumes of magma being displaced underground. This heat evaporates the large volumes of water on the planet, causing its atmosphere to take on its signature milky sheen.
Up next, the three gas giants; Blun'quaj, Frah'quaj, and Idullu'quaj. The word quaj is synonymous with king in Vull'jorgi, hence; Blue king, Red king and High king respectively. All are gas giants dwarfing the other planets in the system, Idullu'quaj most of all. The main differentiating factor between them is their colour, as described before, though Frah'quaj has a gorgeous ring circling it, and Idullu'quaj in typical fashion, outshines both its siblings with a set of rings, three in total, further adding to its divine allure.
Finally, the lonesome planet: Oscurideo. The small, black world located at the edge of the solar system that went unknown for most of known history. It was first discovered by the previously aforementioned astronomer of the Long Stretch, Lucas Ferné of the grand city Cericon, who happened upon it while drunkenly gazing through his telescope after a night of celebratory intoxication. At first, his ravings of a new world were dismissed as hallucinations, though his peers quickly realized the validity of his claims. The reason such a world escaped the notice of the Vull'jorg was merely due to it being obscured by one of the three kings for ninety percent of its orbit around Aume, hence the name meaning 'Hidden god' made by Ferné.
This concludes the structure of the solar system Az is situated in.
