Detailed explanation: The Tall Stretch

The Tall Stretch, regarded as the sibling of the Long Stretch by many, may at first sound as if there is little difference between the two based on naming alone, though one would be forgiven for that assumption. In reality, the Tall stretch is quite different, boasting a variety of different organisms in contrast to its companion, due in no small part to the harsher climate observed around most regions. For a start, a sizeable chunk of the continent is located within or around the area that could be considered Az's equivalent of the Arctic circle, so a fair degree of the place is beholden to varying levels of permanent, tundra-like locales, to taiga and pine forests that experience frequent bouts of cold snaps.
Apart from this, the only noticeably different climate present on this Stretch is towards its most southern points, where the continent encroaches into the tropics, resulting in patches of warmer arboreal regions and a more maritime climate at these coasts. However, the thing that most denizens of Az would relate the Tall Stretch with aside from its obvious latitudinal positioning would be the mountains here. The ranges of said mountains are some of the most extensive in the world, examples including the Plardes, Hurok-akales and the greatest amongst them: the Mik-brules which is where Mik-akal, the largest mountain in the world with its peak reaching over 14000 meters in height, is found. Adding to its mystique, Mik-akal is located almost dead-eyed to the center of the North pole, and is theorized to be the origin of the Mik-rhulak giants, who idolize its great size, as evidenced by the fact that they took to naming their own people in tandem with it (Mik being these giants word for great or largest)
The only other places of note about this place is the two countries that exist off to either side of it, Enelmar and Yadyir. Enelemar acts as a intermediary between the Tall and Long Stretch, hence has been in a state of contention between the Mik-rhulak and the nations of men on the Long Stretch since its first settling. Yadyir is far less exciting, seeing far less interference from outsiders, though the majority of the land there is exceptionally fertile, hence the Mik-Rhulak have seen to it that this place be designated as the bread-basket of their dominion, providing a disproportionately large amount of the food consumed by these giants.
