Detailed explanation: Quon'gir
Most would say that Quon'gir is best described in a single word: desolate, or perhaps even hellish. Not the Vull'jorg though, who see it as the cradle of their civilization and the only place they can ever truly call home. Contrary to the surface level observations of most human nations, Quon'gir, "Lord's Land", in fact supports a collection of ecosystems and organisms not found anywhere else on Az. This, all thanks to the plethora of volcanic activity present on and around the continent, being proportionally higher than any other place on the planet and resulting in large volumes of ash gracing the surface of the surrounding regions. Such ash provides a basis for almost paradoxically fertile soil, which supports numerous life-forms.
This results in the central portion of the mainland being coined as the Onyx Field-Lands, a rich paradise for life to thrive in, with little threat from the constant pyroclasts and lava streams that would obliterate them due to the various 'Forests of the Flame' acting as a natural barrier, as giant redwood trees work as a bulwark while relying on forest fires to fuel their growth.
Past these areas, the majority of Quon'gir is less inviting, with the remainder of the surface either a part of the collective Wastes (of which there are the red, black and brown) or the grand mountain ranges that cover the continent.
These ranges include the following; the Quaj (King) peaks of the center, the 'Two Brothers' known separately as the Kog'jor (Axe Hills) and the Klor'jor (Hammer Hills) ranges which flank the Quaj peaks, the Worid'kaggo (Wise ones) mountains around the middle girdle of the landmass, and three smaller ranges; the Granite, Obsidian and Diamond Realms located around the bottom of the continent. The wastes are desert regions formed by the rain shadow of these mountains, and the differing composition of volcanic debris and soil quality gives each a distinct colour, though all three wastes are united in their limited biodiversity.
Flowing from the vast mountain ranges, the rivers of Quon'gir are vital components in supporting the life that lives here, especially the Brug'dir (Roaring River), which runs for almost half of the continent's length from north to south, supplying the bulk of the Onyx field-lands' water before splitting at a delta caused by the intrusive volcano, Mount Lorok. There are various other rivers, yet none are particularly large, the second largest of which, the Taba'dir (Silver River) of the East Wing, does not reach even a quarter of the length of the Brug'dir.
At the southern tip of Quon'gir lies Orgo'vigist (Forlorn Expanse): a place of fetid marshes and swamps, marking an end to the sprawling mountain top. The Vull'jorg do not settle here eagerly, so only the most basic of outposts, prisons and research facilities are found in Orgo'vigist. Despite these lands lying closer to sea level, intrepid explorers and thieves who try to dock around this area will find the terrain to be in many ways more treacherous than the sheer cliffs found farther inland, with rare diseases, predatory animals and bogs that suck in the unwary all being well documented dangers of Orgo'vigist.
Apart from that, the last part of Quon'gir to catch the eye are its coastlines, majority of which feature basalt beaches in place of regular sand, and the great cliff sides which rise grandly above the sea in many places, making naval attempts to land on many parts of the continent very difficult. The primary docking site for the few ships that do make landfall on Quon'gir do so at the Ruyis Drop, a portion of low lying flatland east of the Worrid'kaggo, that has the small Avad-dir (Gleeful River) flowing through it to the sea.
