Detailed explanantion: Tolu

The exotic, south-eastern lands of the Dragon gods is a place of great intrigue to most cultures of sapient beings, as the ruling authorities of the continent have seen to it that contact with the outside world be avoided if at all possible. That being said, through maps acquired by the small amounts of trade that exist between particularly expeditious merchants, most nations are aware of the general form of the lands that are known in the native tongue as Tolu-Hebaemana, named in honor of their uniter and legendary wielder of magic, Mado Yua, though this is often abbreviated to just Tolu.
If anyone must discuss the regions of this continent, all should agree that foremost amongst them is the country of Hebaeme, a land encircled by mountains and valleys and central power-base for the continent. Featuring the Divine Basin, at one point a great lake within the center of the country before it was altered by Yua, carving two great rivers at opposite ends so that access to the greater oceans was made easy for his home nation. Additionally Yua with assistance from his cadre of mages raised four great mountains that lined the edges of the basin, which alongside the two rivers were used to symbolize the harmony between the six nations that swore allegiance to Hebaeme and its supposed living god.
The first great nation found next to Hebaeme would be the lands of the Danai peoples, a great expanse of windswept hills, plains and savanna which meld into the large Desert of Storms, whose northward placement from Hebaeme lead to their given title by the Hebimese as the Dragon's Horns.
On the opposite southern border from the Dragon's Eye, the Dragon's Maw, and the subsequent Fire-spew islands spreading from there. A section of land experiencing a mild climate, there are fertile pastures, winding hills and forests galore on the mainland, in contrast to the harsher Fire-spew islands, whom due to a very southern latitude, several active volcanoes and being located in close proximity to three major fault lines are beholden to harsh winters, wet summers and a host of natural disasters.
Moving west of the 'head' of the continent, the varied lands once ruled by the Shān jiǎ empire, collectively called the Dragon's Neck. The largest of the six great nations, the Neck contains several unique environs, including the dry 'Skirmisher' Frontier, a selection of plateaus and elevated land which runs along the north-east border of the Neck and the Horns, the southernmost bamboo jungles of Yǐn'do which encapsulate the Central Wetlands, which as you can guess, are quite a marshy realm with the Five-fingers river system running through them beginning at the bases of the Shackle mountains, which in turn contain the Wetlands to the north and west, and run along the continent southwards beyond the realms of the Neck. This leaves the prolific Scourge of Pedong west of the Shackles, a perilous network of canyons wherein little grows or flourishes. Found south of the shackle mountains, the region that became known as the Dragon's Claws is not a pleasant place. Made up of a large section of continental mainland and several larger ocean-bound isles, these locales bear many resemblances to those of the Dragon's Maw, but due to being located even further south, the Claws are locked in a nigh eternal winter, with only the mainland seeing any semblance of a seasonal cycle and even then, the fact that it is dominated by thick ever-green forests and taigas makes living here an ordeal.
As a side note there exists a smaller country that lies between the realms of the Neck and Claws called Kodo, known commonly as the Bloody Talon. As numerous attempts to claim the region were made by not only the Shān jiǎ and the neighboring tribes of the Claws, but also the aggressive Akatan of the Maw, resulted in the highest sustained amount of casualties on the continent, before the land was eventually gifted back to its original denizens, the Kodonese. Hence, it may be considered as a pseudo-seventh great nation despite its small size.
Moving north-west from the Claws, the lush Dragon's Tail. Covered in trees of all shapes and sizes, this place is home to the highest variety of plant-life on Az. From the revered Pale Forests of birch, to the gloomy Oaken Quarter and the Wolf Woods, all manner of life is supported within their boundaries. However as the Tail is a long country, not just forest is present here, but jungle and swamps to the north as well.
Finally this leaves the last great nation of the north to join the confederation headed by Mado Yua, the grand archipelago of islands in the tropics which are known as the Dragon's Wake. As you might guess, the nature of these island's position means a humid, tropical climate is the norm, monsoons and typhoons commonplace. Due to there being possibly over eighty islands total (far more if you count every point of land above sea level as one) it would be tiresome to list them all, though the more significant ones are more manageable. Chief among the archipelago is the island of Ihetao, sufficiently large enough to keep the majority of its surface above sea level, with most of that surface being smothered in thick jungle and a great mangrove swamp around its coasts, which extends to many of the other islands. Neighboring isles include the Salamander Isles, three middling landmasses that are grouped together on account of the high population of certain giant amphibians. Waimat, second largest domain of this sea and home to a burgeoning volcano called The Land Sputter. Apart from these few, the only remaining land of major interest of the Wake is Karoronga, a smaller area than others but reputed for its safety from tsunamis due to the reefs around it, and consequently a hub for merchants of the Wake and indeed, travelers across the globe, as it is the only place on Tolu-hebaemana they are permitted to set foot on.
Apart from these, the rest of the archipelago is designated as the Minor territories, home to neigh but a small fishing village or temple, and the few minute specks of earth found near the Contender's Ocean, representing the farthest extent of Mado Yua's influence. For now....
