Author's Notes, May 2025

Hi yall, thank you for checking out my little cute fantasy world here. 

If you have been watching this world for a while you have probably noticed that I have a tendency to completely change things around every once in a while, especially when it comes to the characters and people involved in the world. 

This is because I am trying to plot out and hopefully write out a book in this setting, that is the project that started this specific worldbuilding project in the first place. As such, as I change and develop the story, the world needs to change too.

If you've been here a while and seen some of these changes happen, now you’ll know why, and if you're new and haven't now you’ll get to see some more of how the world has changed over time.I just figured I should make a page where I can talk about these changes and explain them a bit more.

Our Main Character

The one character that has remained more unchanged than most is the character of Estella, who is the main character of the story. 

Without giving much away plot wize I will say that I intended for Stella to start out being unsure of herself and always looking for direction from others eventually over the course of the plot growing into herself and becoming more confident. I thus had her be more shy and reserved. 

However, I was having trouble with her taking action in the story with a very reserved character as I felt like she would be paralyzed with anxiety and have to rely on other characters for guidance a lot more. So I switched it up a bit while still keeping her original arc intact as much as possible. I made her less shy and anxiety prone, and am rather thinking about making her just be a bit of an underachiever who is still trying to find her place in her family and the royal household.

Her place in the plot as the main character and her sort of story arc will remain the same. I just felt her personality needed to be less anxious/neurotic inorder for her to be more active in the plot. I have added a secondary character that will be taking on more of these anxious traits.

Lady Lavinia/Sybil

Originally this character was the villain of the story, she was going to be Queen Vivian’s jealous aunt who came in and tried to start a coup, kicking off the plot. I was planning on there being family drama and resentment so Lavinia was originally a very bitter person that was also a bit high strung.

I have since shifted who the villain is to be an ambassador from Tandor working on behalf of her King to weaken Autara.

I originally had the evil aunt named Lavinia but since she is no longer the villain I gave that name to the new villian and renamed the Aunt, Sybil. I also made this sybil character the younger sister of Queen Vivian rather than an aunt, and toned down her high-strangeness. I also gave them a brother, to flesh out the family a bit more.

Sister Character

I wanted the main character Stella to have an older sibling specifically a sister or sisters to sort of be a foil for Stella at the start of the story. At first I had her have two older sisters Brianna and Jessica, Brianna was going to be very feminine and sorta controlling and Jessica was going to be a headstrong tomboy. 

However, I started to cut these characters back from the plot more and more and it began to feel like two sisters was too many. So I sort of frankensteined the characters together into one older sister named Brenna; I gave some of Brianna’s more feminine mothering traits to Aunt Sybil and combined the remaining traits into this new sister.

I like both the names Brianna and Jessica but felt like none of them fit the newly frankensteined sister and named her Brenna as it fit and had elements of both names.
