Basic Information
Anatomy
An Astra is made of a liminal layer of thin gossamer lining of translucent silverish skin with calcified boned withing, they are formless as can flow and morph easily. Inside the layer are organs, bone structures that can enforce rigidity and multiple sensory organs to better their awareness of the surroundings.
Genetics and Reproduction
They would merge with another of their kind and divide into at least 2 again, more successful of these couplings would create a new Astra but the success rates of these were fewer and fewer after the sealing of the stone and the setting of leylines.
Growth Rate & Stages
It would take an Astra 300 years to mature into a true Astra not the juvenile form, only being able to coallesce with another around that age, though they could if not killed theoretically persist evermore.
Ecology and Habitats
Salt heavy areas away from the scouring wind was the preference of the Astra but they could live in the old woads and near ley lines without much concern.

It would be a mutual, several decade long affair to confirm what they wanted and what sort of child they would want, their aspirations for the child being added in the coupling by passing the wishes of the parents when diffusing from one another if a successful 3rd or more hosts happen to form.

Astra would have many partners, they would band together and have deep loyalty to one another to the point where they may have shared intimate moments and the mind being shared meant deep relationships were sought.

It is known the Astra made sailing ships and had weapons of Iron but close to nothing of them remain.
