Kistri (Kiss tree)

Build a metal that can comes from space (such as meteorites)

Properties

Material Characteristics

Kistri is a lustrous, orange-brown metal found in a native crystaline form. It is often spiky and symmetrical, either growing in a spherical or conical shape. This unique shaping was found to look coincidentally like stars, lending to the name.

Physical & Chemical Properties

Kistri is nonmagnetic, stable, and inert.   It lacks conducive properties and seems resistant to heat. Kistri has proven to make a poor lightningrod, but a very capable electrical shield.   Kistri does conduct pure arcane energy at a moderate level

Compounds

Ulstirium (also known as Dwersh Steel), an alloy made of Kistri, Nickel, and Lead. Ulstirium is hard, dense, and ductile, making it a prime metal for armour and weaponry.

Geology & Geography

Kistri is found in small deposits throughout Tellom, but the largest appears to be from an ancient meteor just north of the Lauter Valley. This has made for several lucrative mines still in operation today, which can trace their history back to the Duhnic Unification.

Origin & Source

Kistri is most often found as a native metal and does not need to be smelted from an ore. Occasionally, Kistri imperfections can be found embedded in Iron and Copper ores

History & Usage

History

Kistri has been viewed by the Dwersh as a gift from the cosmos for their people. It has a highly spiritual significance not only religiously, but also in a sense of Dwersh identity.    The legendary axe, Kixbailt is said to have been hewn directly from a lump of Kistri that fell at Duhn's feet.    Historically, kistri was used as a foundation of Dwersh society. Armour, hammers, polearms, and statues were crafted from it directly.    Kistri dominated battlefields for approximately 2 decades before Ulst, the Forgemaster of Takabard, discovered a stronger, more durable alloy to be made, which is still in use over 7000 years later.    Kistri is almost only used in the fabrication of Ulstirium today, which dominated dwersh armies, and the Armouries of the very rich -or the very brave.

Everyday use

Kistri is primarily used as the main ingredient in the alloy Ulstirium.    On its own, kistri is used to make ornate reliquaries, statues, and structural frames.
