The Ancester Defleo: The Unseen Protectors

The Lord Sins' first children made a magical pact, swearing them to serve as an unseen and long-lived set of protectors for the entirety of the defleo race. The innate abilities to connect with others and embrace their unique powers are many thanks to them.
The Ancestor Defleo are a revered and enigmatic subset of the Defleo, their bloodline and form most closely tied to the Seven Pillars—the original demons born from the sins extracted during the infamous Hunts of Stonehall . These long-lived beings are the custodians of an ancient and mystical duty, their existence intertwined with the survival and protection of the Defleo race and the realm of Detoya itself. The Ancestor Defleo’s connection to the Seven Pillars grants them extraordinary lifespans, rivaling the millennia's worth of the Pillars themselves. Their blood is imbued with potent demonic magic, making them the living conduits of the Pillars’ power and will.

The Ancestor Defleo bear the weight of an ancient, spellbound duty designed to protect their people and their homeland. This responsibility binds them to a network of hidden tombs, sacred sites scattered throughout the secretive corners of the Clay Region. These tombs are more than resting places—they are mystical bastions, housing protective wards and powerful enchantments tied to the Defleo race and Detoya. The Ancestors act as living sentinels, their entombed presence powering the mystical defenses of their race. These protections shield Detoya and the Defleo from external threats, though what these threats are aren't exactly clear. To fulfill their duty, the Ancestor Defleo voluntarily entombed themselves alive, sacrificing their freedom and mortal existence. Their bodies are bound to the tombs, their essence merged with the protective magics they sustain.

Even in danger, the Ancestor Defleo endure. Their lifeforce is powerful, persisting as long as the Seven Pillars and their fellow Ancestors remain intact. This resilience allows them to continue their vigil, even if their physical forms are destroyed or dismantled. The Ancestors cannot be fully killed in the conventional sense. If damaged, their essence is said to regenerate within their tomb, reanimating their form to resume their duty.

The Ancestor Defleo are seen as the sacred guardians and protectors of their people, their sacrifice and endurance symbolizing the resilience and unity of the Defleo race. They fulfill their duty not for glory, not for ambitions, nor for even recognition of any kind. So ancient and secretive is their ordained oath that not even the common folk of Detoya know of their existence. And yet, it is common within all Defleo: a sixth sense, an empathetic, spiritual link to one another, an unbreakable yet almost invisible tether that is shared amongst them. Unlike most other races, the defleo have a tangible link to each other emporwered by their shared blood.

It is said that only the Seven Pillars themself truly know what the Ancestor Defleo's true purpose is for, what events would cause for them to rouse the ancient powers they are duty bound to contain until the "neccessary time."
