Pyrhanos

A Draconic Hero, Corrupted

Once a symbol of honor and strength, Pyrhanos was a dragonkin general whose name was etched in the annals of Drekayan military history. As a key figure in the legendary Crimson Talon Battalion, he led countless campaigns that secured the prosperity of his homeland. A paragon of valor and loyalty, his death in battle centuries ago was honored with a grand burial in the sacred glade of Drak’thul, a site reserved for the most revered warriors of dragonkin heritage.

Long after his body had turned to dust, the Rising Gallus Cult exhumed Pyrhanos’s remains in a vile experiment to harness the innate power of draconic bloodlines. Believing that dragonkin might hold the key to creating the ultimate vessel for their prophesied god, Gallus, the cult abducted living dragonkin from across the region to serve as "ingredients" in their grisly experiments.

Pyrhanos’s ancient bones and decayed flesh were fused with the vitality of the captured dragonkin through forbidden flashcrafting. The cult performed the Incubator Rite in the shadowy depths of the Black Hatchery, creating an abomination born from the sacrificed lives of those they deemed "unworthy." The result was a monstrous chimera—a grotesque amalgamation of Pyrhanos's fragmented essence and the tortured souls of the living dragonkin.

The cult intended Pyrhanos to serve as a test: a prototype for their ultimate creation. However, the fusion left the creature unstable, driven by a furious rejection of its unnatural existence as well as the Ember Rage incarnate even within this mutated husk. The Wardens Guild of Leefside, an elite group of warriors, scholars, and adventurers dedicated to protecting the region, was called upon to deal with this unprecedented threat. Ultimately, it was the combined efforts of the guild that brought Pyrhanos down.
