Eldra

The first Queen of the Dragons and the Great Unifier of Dragonkind. She is one of the most influential figures in world history due to her international campaign to try and take over the world by unifying dragon kind by diplomacy or force.

Eldra, the daughter of the Black Dragonhorde broodmaster, was born in northeastern Astana and rose to become one of the most influential figures in Draconic history. As the first anointed Queen of dragonkind, she led the Black Dragonhorde and its allies on an unprecedented military campaign of conquest, uniting the skies of Astana’s eastern mountains and beyond under her command. Alongside her brother Darum, who served as her second-in-command, Eldra forged the Horde into an unstoppable force, earning the title of the first true warlord of the dragons.

Eldra’s grand vision was to unite all Dragonbroods under her reign, crushing any who refused to submit. Her campaign stretched across continents, beginning in Astana, crossing into Azmith, and sweeping southward and eastward to Eren and beyond. Her efforts brought the Horde to dominate vast territories, including the western reaches of Eren, where her fascination with the continent’s abundant resources led to the estrangement of her forces from their homeland in Astana.

However, Eldra’s conquest met its greatest challenge in the Great Forest of Eren. This sprawling, enchanted woodland, defended by elves, dryads, centaurs, and earth spirits, stalled her campaign. In response, Eldra unleashed the “Great Burning,” a relentless effort to destroy the forest through draconic flames, reducing much of it to ash over decades. This devastation culminated in a fateful encounter with Eriden, the Guardian of the Earth Gate, who confronted Eldra in the form of a dragon equal in power and size. Eriden cursed Eldra and her kin with the Ember Madness, a magical affliction that ravaged their minds and bodies.

The Ember Madness marked Eldra’s campaign’s downfall and the Draconic Horde’s decline. Succumbing to the curse, Eldra perished, leaving her daughter Leelah to lead the remnants of their fractured legacy. Leelah’s reign would give rise to the Drekaya Empire, built upon the ashes of Eldra’s ambition. Eldra’s legacy, though marked by conquest and destruction, profoundly shaped Drekayan society, ensuring her memory endured as a towering and transformative figure in history.
