Defleo Ancestries

Below are details and inheritable traits associated with each of the Lord Sins. Every defleo displays similarities to one of their ancestors over the others, but the traits listed here are not an exhaustive list.

Famelicus

Children of Gluttony
As a blessing from Beelzebub, Gluttony Defleo is able to build muscle and body weight at a much quicker and consistent rate than others. This leads to them naturally coming off as more plump/muscular than the rest. Their appetite and metabolism is fairly needy regardless of body size, with a stomach of pure iron, managing to eat pretty much anything in front of them. Perhaps it’s the influence of their Lord’s blood, but Famelicus are known to be one of the most gentle Defleo; their personalities are often described as “Gentle Giants” who deeply care about those around them. They’re the tallest among the subraces standing at around 6’3 on average with horns pointed towards the skies. They possess a sleek, almost lizard-like tail, and If born with wings, they’re usually similar to a fly, delicate but with enough power to allow the ability to fly.

Succubus/Incubus/Concubus

Children of Lust
Usually, when people think of Defleo, they picture these folk, as they have historically been the most openly observed in other communities outside Detoya. Unlike other bloodlines, these defleo developed multiple names they were referred to as throughout history. Such names can be used interchangeably. Their hauntingly beautiful features can vary intensely, not having an average height or body frame. The only thing they all seem to have in common is their large smooth horns and, if they possess them, bat-like wings. Some theorize that their physical inconsistency comes from Asmodeus' shape-shifting powers, allowing their descendants to be as physically varied as possible. Despite what myths persist in the mind of outsiders, defleo of this bloodline do not have any innate mental-manipulation powers or obsessions with corrupt, carnal desires. The existence of such tales is thanks to harmful rumors and old-fashioned superstitions. As one could imagine, implying that a Lust Defleo is an insatiable fiend who only lives for carnal desire is highly disrespectful.

Quies

Children of Sloth
Widely considered the soft-spoken and gentle amongst the types, Quies Defleo can be recognized by their fluffy hairs on the end of their long fuzzy tails and ram-like horns. If they were born with wings, they’re fluffy and soft, unsuitable for long flights, and by many, light-heartedly described as more apt used instead as make-shift blankets. They’re usually on the short side, standing at around 5’6. It’s not uncommon to see many individuals with naturally closed eyes or shaded eye coverings since they have the strange ability to sense their surroundings better in complete darkness and are more sensitive to the light, some choosing to completely cover their eyes as a religious practice or personal preference. Quies regain their energy by sleeping like most creatures but many find that their dreams are more vivid or lucid than other beings. Many of them even have the chance to gain visions or insights into their own future, feelings or desires due to the influence of their Lady Sloth.

Contumax

Children of Wrath
Also nicknamed “Hellbulls,” the Contumax have a reputation for possessing a short temper but an incredible sense of duty and loyalty, More contumax defleo currently serve as the guards of their homeland of detoya than any other kind. Being the second tallest, they typically stand at a 6’0" average with large frames and bull-like horns and tail. If they possess wings, they’re usually shaped like a dark swan. Their unnatural strength tends to be it's most prominent when put to work under the most stressful of conditions. Their "adrenaline rush" primes their body for some truly formidable endurance when neccessary, making them capable of crushing all sorts of obstacles with their fists and some claim they can shrug off pain "during the rush.” These spikes in adrenaline cause the body to consume huge swaths of energy and create dangerously high amounts of body heat, leading to pretty overwhelming bouts of exhaustion after they come down from this high, seeing them even pass out of pain after a particularly intense fight isn’t unusual.

Avaris

Children of Greed
The first thing people notice upon glancing at an Avaris is their natural gold markings around their bodies, the capacity for multiple sets of horns on their head, and sleek tails. Sometimes, this gold even travels to their hair strands. Matching their Lord Mammon, they’re also quite small in stature and stand usually at 5’4 on average, their frames varying wildly. Many avaris find success in social and commerce based settings, as many are found to be very personable and taking to wit and intruigue well. It is not unheard of for most to seem to suffer from a loose form of kleptomania or hoarding tendencies, be it gold, clothing, knowledge, or whatever fascinates the Avaris personally. Avaris that suffer from overwhelming stress or illness have been known to have their golden markings visibly fade to a silvery hue.

Gloria

Children of Pride
With their horns shaped like crowns around their head and a slick tail, their silhouette has, in defleo culture, come to embody and give off a natural aura of authority and elegance. Their wings, if they have any, are large and powerful, sometimes large enough they cause an actual detriment in their own utility, being a bit inconvenient and mostly for looks. Their stature widely differ, but few tend to be outright comfortable with their natural appearances. Whether this is because of social tendencies or some underlying desire, many look to their sense of fashion and even body modification to adorn themselves, being the most common of the defleo to use things like wearing high heels to compensate a taller height, or using piercings, horn modifications, and the like to adorn themselves. They crave to be the best in anything they do, be it skills or appearance, and suffer almost physical pain whenever they feel inferior to others around them. Their physical health can be actually negatively affected by having a poor self-image, a phenomenon that leaves them developing gradually worsening flu-like symptoms, but thankfully they regain confidence quite easily thanks to what many call an inherently resilient soul.

Livor

Children of Envy
It’s hard to define a Livor since they tend to take the form of their fellow sub-races depending on their desire. Unlike other defleo, livor change a lot visibly as they age. Over a lifetime, they can shift and change various aspects of their physical appearance, sometimes not even in any foreseeable pattern. An infant might be born with blue skin only to have the hue slowly shift to red by the time they are five. By the time they are an adult, they may have shifted again to more of a golden-hued skin. Exposure to the inherent energies of other kinds of defleo also leads to changes in their physical form. A livor that craves love will take an appearance similar to a Succubus/Incubus, one that craves wealth will take the appearance of an Avaris, and so on. The only thing that can set them apart is their pure black eyes and a curious tendency to have an obvious imperfection in their horns/tail/wings (Asymmetrical horns, mismatching horns and tails from different creatures, etc). All defleo, regardless of the finer details, draw the bulk of their inherent power and features from only one of the pillars. Livor defleo are the only of their kind that break that mold and draw physical traits from any of a number of combinations of their peers.
