Constellations

A collection of some of the more recognizable star constellations in the sky.
Since the dawn of time, mortals have practiced charting shapes and significance among the view of the stars, which has gripped the imagination. Constellations as a concept have existed in the night sky since antiquity, pioneered by the elves and humans. They found particularly noticeable patterns of stars that, over time, were charted by many scholars. With these charts, people could use the stars to navigate or gaze at the beauty of the sky above at night. At some point, people began to attribute the constellations with particular meanings, believing them to have some sort of effect on who a person is. Being born under a constellation could be used to tell who someone is at heart, or so it is believed by some. No constellation is in the sky every night, so not everyone is born under one. Not every constellation seems to follow a set schedule, seemingly appearing at random.

Bear

Those born under the constellation of the Bear are seen as protectors. They are strong with intense instincts to protect those close to them. On their good side they are a gentle warm figure, on their bad side they will fight tooth and nail for those they love. The Bear always appears in the North.

Cat

Those born under the Cat are often seen as sneaky individuals. They are opportunistic, waiting patiently for the right moment to sway a situation in their favor. These patient, contemplative individuals may not appear dangerous, but they reveal their hidden claws when backed into a corner. This means a person who does not brag or show off their strengths but waits until it is needed to use them. The cat always appears in the South.

Dragon

Those born under the Dragon constellation are fierce and strong but impulsive. These people easily react to emotion, not thinking actions through. However, make no mistake, those under the Dragon are not unintelligent. The Dragon can also be seen to symbolize great power or influence. The Dragon always appears in the East.

Phoenix

Those who are born under the constellation of the Phoenix are considered to be resilient. Regardless of their hardships, they emerge from the ordeal better and more beautiful than before. However, these people can also be seen as stubborn in some circumstances. The Phoenix always appears in the West.

Turtle

Those born under the Turtle are often very calm. They go with the flow of life rather than fighting against what life throws their way. Some may consider them lazy and lacking motivation, but more often than not, they are simply wise and patient individuals. The Turtle curiously always appears in the direction of the tides, making it visible to different people in multiple places at once. Some believe this is due to some sort of magical anomaly.

Wolf

Those born under the constellation of the Wolf can have two meanings. Some are considered team players. They work well in social groups and can recognize and adapt to the strengths of others. Some can also be great leaders. The second meaning, however, is the lone wolf. These people prefer to be alone, working off nothing but their own strengths. They are distrustful and cold towards others. The Wolf constellation always follows the moon, appearing under a full moon at night.
