The Gem of Nynsel

The Gem of Nynsel is a historical artefact from the planet Zeltros. The item is a refined kyber crystal inlaid within a bulky metallic case. 

History

  The Gem of Nynsel’s origins trace back to an impact event on Zeltros near the Nynsel River in 881 BBY. The collision was named the Nynsel event and a small kyber crystal was discovered in the impact crater. The zeltron's were unable to identify the crystal for what it was and it passed into the hands of the rich as a rare and beautiful gem. The crystal changed hands until it reached a scientist named Pluto Tamlin. Tamlin also could not recognize kyber but he discovered that energy could be harnessed from the gem. Tamlin had the stone refined and constructed a casing for it, convinced that it could be made into a renewable power source. It was from this point it became known as The gem of Nynsel. Unfortunately, Tamlin met an untimely death before his research could be completed and the gem was once again passed into the hands of collectors who saw it as no more than a decorative prize. The Gem of Nynsel stayed in the hands of collectors until the era of The Galactic Empire when it was stolen from Saun Cun'ri by Evas Isodor and The Crimson Storm.
