The Dawn Wood

The Dawn Wood is a secluded city nestled deep within the Highwoods on Gorus, home exclusively to elves. A rare few outsiders are granted permission to reside here, allowed to live out their days among the long-lived. It’s said that magic lingers in the very air, and that the city itself will not allow entry to those deemed unworthy. Known for its fierce exclusivity, the Dawn Wood is inhabited by elves with sun-kissed skin, a proud warrior culture, and sacred relics such as the legendary Cordivex. Visitors fortunate enough to pass through its gates often speak of the place with awe—and a longing to remain in its quiet luxury.   The city itself is a breathtaking blend of stone cottages, plaster halls, and elegant treehouse dwellings woven seamlessly into the living forest. The air carries the heady scent of wildflowers and ancient trees, as if the land itself is in bloom. Here, nature doesn’t just surround you — it embraces you. Towering trees rise in hues of golden amber and deep crimson, casting warm shadows that shift like candlelight. Flowers bloom in every crevice and corner, even where you’d least expect them — sapphire night orchids climb the trunks like starlight clinging to bark. The Dawn Wood is also home to the rare and gentle Ebon sheep, prized for producing the softest wool this side of the isles, spun into garments so fine they’re said to soothe even the most restless soul.   To enter this place of wonder, one must first stand before the Grand Dawnwood Entrance — a colossal, ancient tree said to peer into the very soul of those who approach. It tests not strength, but the truth of your heart. Should it find you lacking in spirit, grace, or intent, the path will close to you, and the city will remain hidden behind the veil of trees. Only those deemed worthy by the wood itself may pass into its golden light.
