Lumino Kelp Forest
"Ah, the Lumino Sea Otters—fluffier than a thought of home, and just as sneaky. They crack those NeedleCushions like they invented the concept of breakfast, all while glittering like the stars themselves. I swear, if I had lungs, I’d whistle in envy every time they somersault through the fronds. And below—oh, below! The Blood Iron Whales, massive bards of the deep, singing their hollow, haunting tunes. I follow their echoes sometimes, though I’d rather not get stuck in a current with a whale the size of a tavern. Taro, stop swearing; these whales don’t need our commentary." — Mochi, aboard the Celestial Dawn
Out among the seas of Veil you can find vast miles and stretches of Lumino Kelp. The Kelp shimmers over the waterline in a kaleidoscope of colors. The leaves range in shades of dark purple , browns to blues and green. It grows in long stems anchored from the bottom pneumatocysts sparkling in the light as the kelp dances in the chilled currents. Sunlight shines through in dappled light as it bounces off leaves and fish swimming through. Lumino Sea otters and their dark blue star speckled coats glitter as they crack open needlecushions and feast.
Between the leaves, small critters—Seathorn crabs and spiny lobsters—scavenge among the drifting currents. Their clicks and chitters mix with the distant songs of Blood Iron Whales, a haunting chorus beneath the waves. Small silverfin dart between the fronds, weaving through shafts of light. The middle of the Lumino Kelp Forest teems with life: long, pink jellyfish drift lazily, while stinging nettles stretch their tendrils, snaring any fry that swim too close.
The forest seems to have its own pulse and rhythm. The deeper you go, the more shadows begin to dance along hidden caves and sharp, swirling currents. Sponges and corals cling to rocky atolls scattered across the seafloor, completing the dense, layered mosaic of life below. But one should beware—the depths hide dangers not always visible: deadly snails, colossal Goliath-mouth groupers, and sharks patrol these waters.
It is said that if you hear a song in the kelp forest’s depths, it is no melody of the sweet Aquarri. No—it comes from covens of sea hags, twisted of fin and bone, who gather here for their dark rituals. They fester in the shadowed kelp, plotting revenge against Castien of the Knights of the Round Talisman—the Owlin Artificer who has devoted his life to eradicating hags. The Saltmother herself is said to dwell in these depths, her haunting song lingering on the edges, while her sisters serve her with fervent, sinister devotion.

The environment of Kelp forests is always under appreciated they are like the jungles of the ocean, so diverse and home and host to man interesting critters and creatures. I love this piece for that, bringing it to life, you capture it so well :)
I always thought they were magical places, full and teeming with life. Maybe I watched too much Blue Planet as a child. I love the ocean and seas, there's something hauntingly fascinating about them. I also Like each little area has so much diverse life in it. Thank you for reading.
