Emberlock Pendant
After the creation of the Flaming Fields in Uzrash—when Kazcadan the Great lost control of his magic in a moment of passion and the draconic fire spell, Vuthaelruun, ignited the plains with Everflame—the Council of Twelve convened in alarm. Fearing another such incident, they decreed the forging of a containment device: a lock to suppress Kazcadan’s volatile magic, and any like it that might arise again.
Captain Heck led the endeavor, with each member of the Twelve blessing the artifact in turn. Thus was born the Emberlock Pendant. Though Kazcadan accepted it without protest, he understood it for what it was—a leash on his power, a reminder of what unchecked desire had cost him. He knows how to remove it, but since that day, he has chosen caution over freedom. The flames within him still burn, but now, they burn behind a gate of his own making.
The Emberlock Pendant is a singular artifact, forged in the aftermath of the Flaming Fields of Uzrash. At its heart rests a fire opal—crimson and golden, alive with shifting light. Suspended within the gem floats a living ember of Everflame, the same eternal fire that once tore across the plains when Kazcadan the Great lost control of his magic. The ember pulses gently in time with his heartbeat, flaring brighter with each surge of emotion. To any other who touches it, the pendant is searing—painful to hold, dangerous to wear. But to Kazcadan, it is warm and familiar, a piece of himself bound in crystal and chain. The fire inside flickers in rhythm with his pulse, as though the magic and the man remain in constant dialogue. It hangs from a black chain, forged of spell-tempered iron and twice-blessed by the Council of Twelve. The links are etched with runes of suppression and balance, designed to regulate the elemental fury that lies within him. The pendant does not nullify his magic, nor does it imprison it fully—it tempers it. It calms the storm, dulls the edges, and acts as a magical governor on the overwhelming intensity of the Vuthaelruun. Kazcadan wears it still—not because he cannot control his magic, but because he remembers what happened when he chose not to.
"There are days Kazcadan fingers the chain absently, wondering whether the ember burns for him—or waits for him to fall."

This is one of my favorite recent articles. I sense some comic book inspiration, but definitely an awesome item all on it's own.
Suppose it's not one of my favorite people on the Planet. I thought it was a fun way to keep him from leaving scratches all over Selenia.
