The Four Tribes of Sivmarian
Flamefolk
Flamefolk usually have features reminiscent of their element, from small details like glowing nails to more noticeable aspects such as hair like flickering flames or even whole limbs made of fire. Their skin colors tend towards yellow, orange, and red. Their patron is Ishkar, God of the Forge, and their creator deity is Nisa of the Eternal Flame.
Forestfolk
Forestfolk take their distinctive characteristics from land animals, such as horns, antlers, tails, or hooves. Those without these physical features usually have enhanced skills or senses, for example the ability to jump higher than normal or a sharper sense of sight. Forestfolk’s skin colors are usually brown, with a select few having more plant-like colors like muted green or pink. Their patron is Pori, God of Life, and their creator deity is Visan, the Green Mother.
Windfolk
Windfolk have airy features, like cloud hair, wispy silhouettes, or even wings. They have pale skin and hair. Their patron is Seiza, Goddess of the Cosmos, and their creator deity is Tioss of the Everlasting Breeze.
Tidefolk
Tidefolk have features similar to those of the other three tribes, only pertaining to water instead of fire, earth, or air. A tideperson might have fins, gills, or bubble-like hair. Their hair and skin colors tend towards watery tones, such as gray, green, blue, or even sometimes purple. Their patron is Linze, Goddess of Death, and their creator deity is Zenbo, the All-Knowing One.
Gender, Sexuality, and Reproduction
The four tribes do not reproduce in the same way as a human would. Each individual has the potential to reproduce and none have a fixed gender. They are referred to using the pronouns they/them until they come of age and can identify themselves. Some may choose a life partner. The most common are relationships of two or three, with the highest in recorded history having five individuals. Sivmari reproduce asexually, going through an elaborate courtship ritual with another individual, usually their partner, which is typically used to stimulate egg-laying.
