The Dosuen

The Dosuen people come from Sukiara. They are a proud people, with a strict social hierarchy, from peasant to emperor. They maintain rigid control of their trade routes, and the land they inhabit is rich in precious minerals. Dosuen are skilled shapeshifters who take their animal name as part of their birth name (e.g. Tora [animal] Koimi [name])when they come of age at around 15 years old. The planet Sukiara has many wondrous geographical features, including but not limited to: towering waterfalls, clear ponds, huge forests of old-growth trees, and magnificent cave formations. They maintain a strong relationship with the environment, and to find their animal counterpart, when an individual turns 15 years of age, they must leave for a while and live on their own until they find it. Many take jobs as assasins, their shapeshifting a valuable skill in this profession.     Anatomy   The Dosuen, in their original forms, typically have two arms on their humanoid upper body, with each hand having five fingers with suckers at the ends. Their lower body is made up of 1-3 long snake-like tentacles. Their heads gradually grow to resemble that of their chosen animal, taking on ears and eyes that they did not have at birth, though the basic head shape stays the same.
