Paragon Horizons

Thank you for investing; go there for your permits, there for your orders, make sure to fill your quotas, report to your manager, and as always: Be effective.

Structure

Controlled by a large board of acting "Directors" as their called, this Oligarchy, ruled by a non-set amount of people are actually the CEOs of the many companies that operate in and outside of Paragon Horizon's borders, this group, or as it's known as "The Board," control every single aspect about the Empire, from expansion, construction, employment, imports, exports, military, fleets, etc. These Directors of course employ people below them, whom employ people below them, and so on, but these Directors control their part of the galactic company ultimately, answering to no one, not even investors. Due to all this, Paragon Horizon's denizens act under the large immovable boot of their higher-ups, demanding more work for less pay; Construct. Automate. Explore. Exploit.

Public Agenda

It's quite simple: Produce money. Profit, money, control! Keep those numbers in the black, and if they ever drop into the red, fire the person that caused it. It's black Friday, every Friday.

Assets

Paragon Horizons has the highest number of Megastructures in the entire galaxy, holding over one thousand. That's almost more than all other Empires combined. Due to this immense resource acquisition, the amount of products that this Faction pumps out is almost inconceivable. But don't worry, it's all on the spreadsheets.

Demography and Population

Paragon Horizons sends out drone ships to nearly every planet to inspect it for atmospheric content and resources, and if it deems it to be fit, team of engineers are launched out to follow out the goals of the Faction. Construct a factory, automate as many things as possible, explore for every possible alien species or material that can be the last step, exploited. Due to this, a majority of the population of this Empire live in small towns and cities on millions of planets, left to keep up machines and produce products.

Territories

With hundreds of thousands of companies, Paragon Horizons' territory is honestly just a mess of bureaucracy. Notable companies can be found below, most of which are on The Board.   The Companion Company- Tomorrow's Best Friend, Today! Specializing in constructing and selling man's best friend in the form of artificial Cybervolve Creatures, replicating their likeness to a T. The CEO of this company, Rob Wellington, is a sentient canine from the planet Earth that was granted super intelligence via an implanted Neurological Cybermesh, that walks around using a titanium exoskeleton. This company provides itself on its high grade pets, high grade AI, and high grade camera equipment.   Cycanis Lifestyle- Cycanis - because we can. Pushing the limits of what's possible, it's never been about if they should, but if they could. Run by Imirens Visar, this eccentric human leads this company from its humble beginnings to its flagship product, the Atomizer, in just a few short years. Statistically, by never needing to buy products, the profit of Cycanis is undefined and - thus - infinite, and when I punch that into my calculator, it makes a happy face.   Reel or not Real- Drop us a line. All the way from Earth, this fishing company went from fishing nearly en mass on a single planet, to fishing nearly every ocean and lake on every planet dry. Run by the Lekopha woman Roxxie, this company is what creates a majority of hunting equipment in the galaxy.   HiveTech- Bringing the Swarm to you. What started off as a humble startup quickly turned sour when they invented a self-replicating Nano swarm - now known as the Grey Tide - were used to sprout a military-marked special operatives unit filled with self-replicating soldiers. Run by a Va'cit named Clive Hiveson (He had his name changed), an uptight man that wants your money. By force.   Squeal or Wheel- We fix cars and better Steaks! A car dealership plus steakhouse, if you've ever bought a car mod, it's likely it was ordered from here. Run by the Kolari mechanic Arabella, this laid back woman finds that combining her two favorite things, grilling and cars, she could make a fortune doing what she loves, and she was right.   El Selonzo's Discount Construction- You get what you paid for. When you need something built just ask the human Selonzo, his intergalactic construction company builds almost everything in Paragon Horizons, which is probably why it's so fuckin' rickety absolutely amazing! While the man himself is incredibly careless and generally eccentric, it cannot be passed over how ridiculously cheap he can turn a seemingly billion dollar project.   Field Harmonics- The sound of success, Field Harmonics. Brought up by the owner's returned investment from being a planetary engineer for Paragon Horizons, the Rakkari woman Felis Mccoy went from a lonely engineer to one of the richest women in the whole galaxy as her incredibly efficient factory paid off as she completed her goal in utilizing the entire planet's natural resources. Now, this company produces extremely high tech equipment, from guns, to vehicles, and even just toasters.   Space Rocks Inc.- Space Rocks Inc. Undermine the competition. Holding the rights to almost all the Planetary Stripmine Megastructures in Paragon Horizons, and thus hold a majority of the profit produced from metal refining and ship production. Run by the Sitarra Jade Skies, a exploiter and racist to the maximum degree, only employs Throsk and Pelotids to keep his appearances up, allowing him to skimp out on the equipment actually needed to run these incredibly advanced resource gathering plants.   The Parasol Company- We've got you covered, The Parasol Company. A producer of basic household appliances, it's likely you've used at least one of their products... every day. Run by the incredibly charismatic yet malicious Ph'sen Haldah 'Alfred' Phnn'duu, this company vows that it's definitely not stealing your DNA's makeup to produce Amalgamorphs. We swear.   Industrial Business Unlimited- Need a house that looks brand new, just call us over at IBU! Run by the stingy but by-the-book Dwarfed Human woman Jodie, this company buys the buildings commonly built by El Selonzo's and then keeps them in good care to be leased out. While the IBU doesn't exactly keep their buildings in great care, they keep the functional and usable.   Equity Products- Keeping the family fed, Equity Products. Owned by a Throsk named Hector, this agricultural titan produces nearly all food that's consumed in Paragon Horizons, planets dedicated to mega farms and factories to produce and can food, networking lines to move as much food as possible, and even Phase Rails made to keep the food chains working with feed for animals.   Mccray Fabritech- Wear where you want, Mccray's Fabritech. A direct Rival to The Dominion owned QueensWear, this company produces armor-like clothing made from hyperthread and biocarbon. This clothing is commonly sold to the upperclassmen of Paragon Horizons, vowing to keep the safe and secure, even during the war. Piloted by Android Ray Mccray, this man devastates the competition with his custom-made sewing machine cybernetic arm attachments.   Cosmocom- Hear the light, Cosmocom. Responsible for the entire Empire's communication grid, Cosmocom makes a profit by imposing data limits on their patrons despite the nearly limitless data capacity they are capable of shoving through their Quantum Buoys. Run by Zota, this almost faceless Ferra spouts an almost endless stream of complete lies, and seems to be more droid than human.   Memory Gold Bank- We remember so you don't have to. A bank the size of an Empire itself, with a GDP per capita higher than any other Faction, it's likely that if left alone, this company would rise to be one of the galactic superpowers. However, run by business, this bank locks people under lock and key to drain every last cent from them. Not enough money? Try our payday loans! With half-human half-Pelotid, Ruby Ruden, at the helm, he is seen as one of the most rich people in the world, and he acts like it.   Aerosys- We live so you can too! Coming straight from old-Earth, this medical company puts the "dollar" into idolatry, seemingly worshiping the concept of profit itself. Up charging already expensive meds to sky-high prices, people scrounge up what they can to survive just to get their shot of Hemochem. Run by two Aeldeh that run the company in tandem, Carol and Sheryl, one incredibly scientific and the other more than overzealous for money.

Technological Level

The many companies of Paragon Horizons have many technological edges, but they keep them all to themselves in attempt to gain control of the Board. Except for one. Cyacanis has no allegiance to the Board and merely leeches off their funding for their crazy experiments, and goes against their request to keep the Atomizer a secret technology, selling it everyone they can get the chance to.

Infrastructure

The Hypergate system that has been setup throughout the entirety of Paragon Horizons is truly something to behold, even the most useless of planets have a Hypergate just a few warps away, and because of this, it's likely that anyone with even just a Quantum Shift Drive would be able to make it from one side of the Empire to the other in just under a week.

The Future - Just over the Horizon.

Judicial Body
-Everything requires a license, including basic necessities, including speech, water, food, and even oxygen and bodyparts. These licenses can and will be revoked without warning if you are seen to be acting against the laws of the company you work under. By default, you are provided with a free trial of these as a child for the first 5 years, but afterwards you must have a guardian or yourself apply for a license extension; if not filled out it's likely that these people will have their ability to survive revoked.   -Anything you own is actually owned by your subsequent company, which is actually owned by a bigger company, which is actually owned by an even larger company, which is properly owned by one of the companies on or affiliated with The Board. Regardless, they have the right to seize anything you have, as it's not actually yours.   -Infringing on company rights is a serious criminal offense, and can get your licenses and corporate stance revoked or diminished. Similarly, going against company policy, which may or may not include simply speaking out against the company, or just not saying their jingle before conversation, can also count as "Infringing on company rights."   -The higher up you are in a company, ranging from Independent Contractors to Contract Employee, then Operations Manager, Then General Manager, then Senior Manager, a Junior Executive, then Vice President, President, Chief Executive Officer, then finally Chairman. The higher you are on this corporate ladder, the more "chances" you're allowed to ignore company policy, to points where you can do basically whatever you want.   -Surprisingly, there are no taxes at all, as all money circulates within the corporate environment regardless, with no need at all to collect extra for a higher government. Some on The Board have expressed a want for taxes to their leading companies, but due to the ever cycling nature of The Board, most people shoot this down.   -Want to visit? Just fill out the proper paperwork in triplicate and then send it in. Beware though, as the fine print might lock you into servitude if you're not careful. Those found within the borders without the proper paperwork will be extensively questioned and nearly forced into working.   -There is little to no education within the faction, the only bits of knowledge learned passed from worker to worker or parent to child in order to keep information dissonance to a minimum.
