"An enchanting and mysterious land, but also dark, mean, and cursed. A place full of dreams and nightmares, of hopes and resignation, of possibilities and insurmountable barriers. Someone has defined it as a 'fascinating and terrible' contradiction. It couldn't be described better than that..."
Isolated from the surrounding lands by insurmountable natural barriers, the Valley of Fallen Leaves is a world apart. A splendid and captivating valley filled with winding rivers, crystalline lakes, primordial forests, impassable mountains, and vast grassy plains, all bathed in an eternal autumn. However, its natural beauty is often overshadowed and hidden from view. In a perpetually cold and damp climate, shrouded in a gloomy, gray, and misty atmosphere, there are few moments when the Valley's inhabitants can admire it and glimpse the sun, basking in its light and warmth.
But the grip of autumn and the dangers of the wilds are not the only burdens weighing on the population. The nobility, divided into primary and secondary families and houses, controls every aspect of life in the Valley, wielding absolute supremacy. The common folk, who make up the vast majority of the inhabitants with rare exceptions, neither possess the ability nor the will to fight for freedom and equality. Instead, they passively accept their subjugation under the yoke of the powerful.
Thus, in both the smallest towns and the larger ones—where noble houses are officially less influential—the population suffers under the will of the wealthy. These elites indulge, amidst frivolities and endless power games, in gratuitous and petty acts of cruelty, oppression, and horror, crushing the common folk with relentless poverty, toil, pain, despair, and death.
In this enchanting, mysterious and cursed land, four individuals embark on a journey of self-discovery and hope: Goldrick, Karak, Lucien, and Tiresio. Each of them has a compelling reason to undertake this arduous path through the perils and mists of the Valley. Each carries a past on their shoulders, weighing heavily on their soul. Each will tell their own story.
Their friends, companions, allies and adversaries, their doubts, fears, and anxieties—all these and more will be shared as they progress on their journey together in which the protagonists will come to know friendship, torment, hope, suffering, trust, betrayal, joy, sorrow, love and death.
In a beautiful land full of contradictions and dangers, some souls stronger than others wander in search of hope...
