Porttown
Geography
Porttown is a small nation sandwiched between Dialon and Evrelth the entire country is a giant bamboo swamp. In the north there runs the Great Western river the widest river in all of Uralsti. The swamps get quite foggy in colder months sometimes you can't even see a meter in front of you because of this the government built long wooden paths that stretch to all of the cities and the main trade route the paths have barriers and are very well lit to guide travellers
Climate
The swamps fluctuate depending on month in general temperatures in hotter months average 34°C and in the colder months it drops to 18°C the country often has rain and it never snows the coldest months have huge rainstorms coming from the west ocean most houses are built to float to prevent them from flooding. wind speeds can reach 10 km/h though often it is less.
Fauna & Flora
Flora
Porttown has little exposed land for grasses to grow upon but instead has many aquatic plants like the Far-Western Aquatic Bamboo (Occides dellum) and the Lowland Yuk Kelp (Infra algarin). Some stand outs are Netted Algae which often grows on wood that soaks in water it grows like it's name implies in a net like pattern scientists don't know why it does this maybe to spread quicker for food or another obscure reason the author hasn't yet thought of. Another odd plant is the blooming night blossom which take the appearance of a angels trumpet the Blooming night blossom grows like ivy up trees and glows at night many lovers go out at night to pick them for a romantic date night.

Fauna
The fauna of Porttown is very sparse but the few creatures that do live here are odd indeed, with animals like the giant firefly, waterhoppers, riverdown bass and bamboo carp. most species fall into either insects or avians very few mammals excluding the sapient species live here. some interesting highlights are the bamboo carp which live inside of dead and rotting bamboo bamboo leaves grow from between their scales marking them as one of the many species of duovita bamboo carp also eat the rotting bamboo stalks and are one of the main reasons why the swamp isn't overrun by dead bamboo stalks. Another odd specimen is the giant firefly growing to many times the theoretical limit of normal fireflies these insects light the swamps with their bright orange glow thought to be related to the great dragonfly of the Central Desert in Dialon they are very skittish by nature and no one has successfully trapped a specimen for study
History
After the war of Heratiam Porttown separated from Dialon to form it's own country. The only reason Dialon allowed Porttown to secede from it was because the swamps were borderline uninhabitable. Once seceding Porttown focused first on stabilizing itself and declaring itself as independent.
in 1600 CE the first bridges were constructed across the country they were rudimentary at best but served their purpose which was to have a safer way of navigating the region the bridges connected every town landmark and trade route together so now Portians did not need to worry about disappearing into the fog and mist never to be seen again.
in 1900 CE the bridges got a redesign to improve and make them safer better lights were added to the paths and higher barriers to prevent falls strong timber was imported and fashioned into the new bridges the old remaining parts of the 1600s bridge was brought to the museum of continental history in Usrar which has monuments donated from all the countries of the world to form a cohesive timeline of the continents development from original hoes to ancient weapons of war the museum has it all.
Porttown declares neutral in the war between evrelth and dialon selling to both sides of the war.
