Shapelings
Shapelings, Axiles, squid people of mysterious gender. Of all the alien looking creatures in the Neath shapelings surely top the list, possessing the body of a humanoid and the head of a squid with all the associated tentacles. This odd appearance leads to mockery and derision from most they encounter, and there are even a few civic stonings every once in a while. Despite all of this shapelings are a gregarious and cheerful people, quick to make friends and extremely loyal to those who show them kindness.
Shapelings arrived in the Neath soon after the First City fell, brought in as opposed to down. They didn't look nearly as civilized then however, and thankfully no description of their original and assuredly horrifying shape remains. They retain some small ability to alter their form even now, and will happily demonstrate the origin of the phrase "slippery as a squidman" if you attempt to accost them in the street. All shapelings possess a great interest in amber, and its whispered that this material was what their ancient cities used to be built from. Perhaps they simply miss that which is lost, or maybe (and more likely) they're plotting something devious.
Relations
Shunned due to their looks by all land dwelling species. Though they primarily live in Fallen London they have no particular allegiance to the city, which might explain why the government hasn't bothered to enact laws protecting them yet. They also retain a peculiar relationships with the great Lornflukes that dot the Undersea, another reason they cannot be trusted. Race: LINKRemove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
