Humans

Ah, humans. A few unlucky ones managed to get pulled into the Neath with the first three cities that fell, but it wasn't until the Fourth City came crashing down that they had any real presence in the Neath. Let's just say the early arrivals had a bad time of it, being permanently dark and all, and leave it at that. With the fall of the Fourth and Fifth Cities, which both consisted of primarily humans, this short lived bipedal species has become the preeminent power in the Neath. It turns out that when lead by one of their number that stands a head above the rest, they are capable of almost anything despite their fractious nature. One need only look to the Khanate and Fallen London to see that.   It is not so strange, then, that the humans were the ones to first conquer the Undersea, first in their vessels then in their mechanical triremes. Though they have been physically unable adapt to their new home their technology most certainly has, barring a few notable missteps. While most older and native communities and peoples are at least tolerant of these transients, a few (*cough* elves *cough*) find it difficult to forget the events that transpired on the Surface many millennia ago. Some might even go as far to say that the humans have ended up right where they belonged: on Hell's doorstep.

Relations

Everyone's second-best friend, aside from the elves of course. Devils seem to enjoy the company of humans a great deal, for their part, which is somewhat perplexing given the two's recent history. Like two peas in a pod, the elves would tell you, if you bothered to ask.
