Gasmorthel Clan

Structure

Muhkala respect and revere veterans and often follow their lead. Like all Muhkala clans, Gasmorthel is governed by a single clan residence and an assembly house known as a Council of Arbiters. Arbiters are elderly Muhkala, who after reaching an advanced age and achieving a distinguished rank for their battle prowess or leadership alongside an outstanding service record, have retired from military service. They now serve as diplomats for each of their extended families and make decisions for the clan in the Council of Arbiters.

Culture

The Muhkala honor code is similar to a few throughout human history, sharing concepts such as skill in combat (with an emphasis on sword and marksmanship), loyalty to master and family/clan, and views on death. The Muhkala display respect and admiration for honorable fighters, whether they are allies of the Muhkala or not; it is not unusual for the Muhkala to have such an admiration for their adversaries. Assets

Like the other Muhkala clan, the Gasmorthel clan is a clan of fierce elite warriors armed with advanced technology.

Military

Like all Muhkala, members of the Gasmorthel clan are trained from birth and must spend mandatory time in the service of the military. This "training" includes advanced combat techniques, learning the lore of their species, survival, how to use their weapons and armor, and the Muhkala code of honor and clan laws. The Muhkala display respect and admiration for honorable fighters, whether they are allies of the Muhkala or not; it is not unusual for the Muhkala to have such an admiration for their adversaries. Muhkala respect and revere veterans and often follow their lead. Military promotion among the Muhkala is by merit. A Muhkala soldier must succeed to advance among the ranks, with this success being measured in combat kills. A Muhkala near the top of the military hierarchy may have personally slaughtered thousands of individuals to reach that status.

Foreign Relations

Generally, the Muhkala seem to have little interest in the acquisition of new turf or interacting with the Trench at large. They're rarely seen interacting outside of the five settlements they have established inside the Trench. However, this is the extent of our knowledge about their settlements as the Muhkala are staunch isolationists that won't interact with outsiders unless they feel it is absolutely necessary. They will not hesitate to fire upon anyone who gets too close. The Gasmorthel clan is one of the few exceptions to this isolationism. Though far from an open-door policy, they have limited trade agreements with local settlements. Before the Breakout, the Organization stored Muhkala technology in sealed vaults scattered throughout the Trench. Occasionally these vaults are opened and looted by various factions and individuals. Because the Muhkala view their technology as their divine right to own, they are very eager to recover any piece of it. Often launching bloody crusaders to recover their technology. Rather than potentially lose Muhkala lives over the recovery, the Gasmorthel clan offers to pay scavengers with food in return for any piece of Muhkala technology they might've found.
