Eden
When one considers that the Trench is a country-sized man-made structure submerged entirely in the ocean, one may wonder where the inhabitants are getting their oxygen from. The answer is Eden. A chamber containing a plethora of plants, Eden is responsible for all the oxygen that is pumped into the Trench.
Geography
Eden is a 900-acre chamber in the Trench's lower levels. The true floor of which is covered by a 30ft deep layer of soil. It has a domed ceiling that simulates a natural sky, complete with artificial UV light emitters. Several creeks flow through Eden to feed the tree roots. Created by pumping fresh water from the Trench's North aquifer.
Ecosystem
Eden is one of the few locations in the Trench where plants can thrive. Within its walls is a dense temperate forest. It is dominated by deciduous trees like oaks, elms, and walnut.
Eden is also one of the only places in the entire Trench where one will find regular animals; squirrels, songbirds, crows, deer, wolves, bears, snakes, and bees. All of these are present to ensure the health of the trees and the forest by emulating as much of a natural environment as possible.
On the more supernatural side, Eden is home to a wide variety of nature spirits.
Ecosystem Cycles
Natural sunlight is emulated through lights and screens on the ceiling and walls of Eden's chamber to help the plants grow. Complete with a real-time day-night cycle. Climate control will also change the environment according to the seasons.
Localized Phenomena
Eden is probably the closest thing you will get to feeling the sun and wind on your face in the Trench.
Though sprinklers in the ceiling, rainfall can been simulated to water the plants.
Climate
The climate of Eden is controled to emulate that of a temperate forest like those of Europe.
Fauna & Flora
I've given some examples of the plants and animals that live here. So this section will be dedicated to the Supernaturals that live here.
Eden is primarily occupied by nature spirits like dryads. Incredibly shy, dryads will assume the forms of trees when they sense someone approaching. Especially those of the lecherous satyrs.
Playing among the branches, you may spot the Kodama. While they may seem childlike, these yokai are actually very old. Their life force is tied to individual trees in Eden.
The famously elusive Sasquatch make their homes in Eden as well.
Water Sprites make their homes in the creeks of fresh water.
Guarding all of Eden is the Leshy, the embodiment of the forest itself. Maintaining a neutral disposition, his behavior will largely be governed by how you yourself treat the forest.
Natural Resources
Eden is the only place in the entire Trench one can find natural wood.
Tourism
Because of its importance in maintaining the oxygen supply for the entire Trench, Eden is considered neutral ground among all factions of sentient beings, and its continued maintenance is of utmost importance.
