Bruce Banner travels to Ibadan, where he makes contact with Dr Frederick Kiber, a physicist and engineer who Bruce had befriended at a conference many years previously, and kept in contact with until he went on the run.
Kiber is able to get Bruce temporary access to one of the biology labs at the university, so Bruce can begin studying his own condition. He also begins studying biology, attempting to fill in some of the gaps in his own knowledge.
