Halfworld
Halfworld was an uninhabited planet before it was purchased by intergalactic medical corporation Keystone Inc, and corverted into a universe's largest high-security hospital.
The planet, previously designated K37570-N3-004, was renamed Keystone Wellness Facility 1. Half the planet was planted up as a garden, intended to be calming for residents, with small, limited capacity residential areas intended to resemble rural cottages. The other half of the planet housed the industrial facilities necessary to keep the facility running, produce replacement guards, and manufacture food. The extreme contrast, when viewed from space, of the industrial zone vs the garden zone, lead to the planet being nicknamed Halfworld. Keystone eventually gave into popular opinion, and the name Halfworld has been used in all company publications for several decades.
Although home to no locally evolving species, some have argued that Halfworlders constitute a native sapient species. This argument has been made primarily by groups lobbying for better Intergalactic protections for cybernetic and artificially engineered species, and has been largely rejected by galactic governments.
