The Cloudawn
The event known widespread as theCloudawn is, perhaps, the most important, most significant, and most infuriating event in written history, besides maybe the war that led to the Cloudawn. It is both a legend told to young children, and provably real.
The name “Cloudawn” refers to the event 10 generations or about six hundred years ago, in which, after a great and terrible war the world waged, it finally ended in the fall season of Snowdawn, and it was with the bitter winter storms of Snowdusk that the Clouds came, but the sun in the sky in the stars did not come back with spring. This then threw the world into a terrible famine for several generations, as a result of most plants dying out, so most animals starved. It was with this newfound hunger, along with other things such as previous prophecies and lack of divine gifts, that brought the world to realization that the gods had abandoned the world.
What followed from the Cloudawn, is something almost exclusively known as: The Age Of despair, the five generations, almost three hundred years, following the Cloudawn until the plants began to slowly evolve to the full shade the Clouds brought. They had to. But finally, after five generations of despair, people started to be able to live comfortably again. Instead of simply trying to survive and we begin to thrive again.
In The Age Of Dispair, there was no study of the Clouds. No research. There was loathing and hurt, and most of all the pain , but as we further ourselves from the unexplained tragedy, we begin to want to research it. And most of all people wonder, “Yeah, but where are the gods?”
