Terenganu Valley: Prologue

General Summary

Friday Night Firefight
The story begins with the "night shift" crew of the Deathwish (Salah, Wahil, Izzaldin, and Rouya) manning the bridge to their slow descent into the planet of Kua towards the Terenganu Valley. They are suddenly attacked by a Syndicate Black Ship. The crew tries to wake up the pilots, but the cryosleep pods for them are suddenly jammed shut from the attack by the Syndicate. The crew takes positions in the ship and tries to take the Black Ship head on. The ship takes numerous hits while Wahil man engineering fighting fires and distributing energy across the ship. Meanwhile, Izzaldin takes position as captain of the ship, Rouya mans guns, and Salah takes on her role of Sensor Op.

The two ships fire on each other for a while, and then the Deathwish decides to activate their stealth generator in hopes to sneak up on the Syndicate ship and fire upon them unaware. A tense hide-and-seek game ensues between the two ships as the Syndicate ship tries to scan them down. The Syndicate eventually succeed and the firefight continues. After an hour of exchanging fire with their accelerator cannons, the Syndicate ship is finally destroyed, but not without the Deathwish sustaining considerable damage. They decide to land the ship to the nearest outpost below; a remote trading and mining outpost just outside of the Terenganu Valley.   Den of Thieves
The ship lands onto the spaceport of the outpost and they meet with the spaceport manager and negotiate for supplies, fuel, and repairs. Izzaldin tries to negotiate a lower price, but she fails and the spaceport manger in anger doubles the fee required for supplies, fuel, and repairs. The crew, left with no choice, agree to the deal. Half the crew head to the outpost's cantina and the others head towards the trading post to see if there are any wares to buy. The crew manage to get some sparts parts at the trading post.

At the cantina, the crew meet the bar owner, an old miner, and a woman named Salindre. After talking to the old miner and the bar owner about Terenganu Valley and the excavation site, they talk to Salindre, also a new person passing by. Salindre introduces herself as a novice for the Draconite Order and that she has been watching them since meeting Merez at Coriolis Station. Salah instantly recognizes her as the hooded figure that was watching them after leaving The Quiet Eunuch. Salindre asks them to give the statuette of Zhar to the Order as it has powers beyond them. The crew, obviously, wouldn't give it to anyone without a price. Salindre offers them standing with their faction and future jobs for the Order as well as monetary payment to each of them for giving the statuette. The crew agrees with this offer and set a time to officially hand over the statuette. Salindre leaves and warns them that the Order is always watching.   The Meeting of The Five Armies
The crew agree to meet Salindre at the outpost's spaceport to hand over the statuette. Salindre keeps her word and transfers birr to the crew. As the crew is about to give the statuette to Salindre and her group, a squad of Syndicate members show up and demand the statuette. They offer more money and to wipe the bounty on their head clean on Coriolis Station. As soon as they finish giving their offer, a squad of Zenethian Hegemony Asturban troopers show up. They demand that the crew hand over the statuette to them as all artifacts on Kua are property of the Hegemony. Anyone who breaks the law will be deemed enemies of the state of Kua. Meanwhile, a dropship drops off a Consortium strike team from the sky. They are a Judicator squad to try the deaths of Merez Alcan and Lavim Tamm on Coriolis Station. Failure to comply will have the crew expelled from Coriolis Station and deemed terrorists of the station. They also demand the statuette as evidence for their crimes. Izzaldin thinks quickly and goads the Hegemony squad and the Consortium about their political differences starting a verbal fight between the two groups. The Syndicate and the Draconites are soon dragged in, and pretty soon a vicious firefight erupts between all groups.

The Deathwish crew scatter amidst the firefight and try to escape. Izzaldin, Salah, and Rouya find a sewer hatch beneath them and try to escape down there. However, a stray blast from one of the squad hits a heavy cargo container behind Salah, and as she looks behind her, it hits her crushing a side of her face badly. Unconscious and bleeding out, Izzaldin and Rouya drag her down the sewers to safety. Meanwhile, Wahil is tasked with grabbing Salindre and escaping with her as she is the one paying them. If she dies, no one gets paid. He successfully grabs her and escape into the jungle, but not before getting hit by a laser blast. He is injured, but not critically, he runs into the jungle to hide with Salindre and to wait it out in hopes of the Deathwish crew to come save them later.
