Thordak, said to be the oldest Red Dragon on the Prime Material Plane, has been forgotten by most mortal kind for thousands of years. Since his wrath burned Crete to the ground, leaving the Scar of the Cinder King behind, he has been silent. Though some believe him dead, those who have seen his strength know better than to assume something so foolish. Hidden from the world on the lost Island of Chult, he has attracted countless beasts to protect his lair as he rests, from leviathans to minor civilisations who revere him as a God. He now sleeps in his bath of lava, solely responsible for the volcanic activity that spews the layer of ashen mist across Chult.
