Ucara (ju-kɑːr-ɑː)

Ucara is the source of true enlightenment. While this is a claim made by all of the Deities, it is a claim that only Ucara can fulfill.

As one of the Anarchs, Ucara is poised on the Dharmus, the most important of the axes of Truth. If this is not self-evident to you, then I would refer you to the writings of Theoxidus for how the structure of the Jewel fundamentally requires the tension of the Dharmus to exist.

The unbound Dharmus is the side that the sapient races resonate with - we are creatures of unbridled passion and unending wonder, are we not? The Empyreans are order - they are rigidly defined, forced to act according to their inherent nature. But we of the Terrene can ultimately be whatever we choose - and choice is the essence of the unbound Dharmus.

The superiority of the Anarchs, then, is clear, but why is Ucara the most enlightened? It is because of Ucara's understanding of the other Truths.

Ucara favors the crowded Ecologus, which is again the natural state of the sapient beings. If we do not cluster together, we fall apart - this has been a constant throughout history. The natural world is important, of course, but the fate of the world is decided in the cities.

Most importantly, though, is that Ucara has the proper respect for the importance of the Moribus - which is none at all. Dark and light, twisting around biting each others tails continuously. Claiming their eternal conflict should be the worlds, when the rest of us would prefer if they would just let us live our lives.

Ucara will let you live your life. Ucara will let you be free to advance your interests, no matter what they are. I know yours - you wish to collect stories and share them with the Terrene. You are doing Ucara's work whether you know it or not - the raw chaos of all of those different stories, spread through the network of civilizations, without concern for the so-called moral implications. Ucara would welcome your worship and would relish you telling your tales.

Divine Domains

Trickery (Chaos) - the unbound Dharmus is the realm of the trickster, focusing on deception, illusion, and stealth. Most of the powerful followers of Ucara will focus on this aspect.

Light (Charity) - the interaction between the light Morbius, unbound Dharmus, and the gathered Ecologus. Giving freely of what one has to improve the general welfare, the Society touts its charitable giving.

War (Wrath) - the interaction between the dark Morbius, unbound Dharmus, and the gathered Ecologus. Protection of what belongs to Ucara and their worshippers.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

The recognized symbol of Ucara is a thief's mask. The material the mask is made of is important to the practitioners of the faith. Silk represents Charity, leather represents Chaos, and bone or fur represent Wrath.

Tenets of Faith

Ucara has blessed the Terrene with the Commandments of Freedom:
  • Freedom Above All: You are bound only by your own desires and cunning, not by laws or societal norms. Follow your own path, and never be enslaved by expectations.
  • Freedom For All: As you should be free, so should you help to make others free. End the bondage of the enslaved when you can.
  • Take What You Need: To fulfill your potential, you must ensure not just your survival but your growth. You must take that which is needed to thrive.
  • Give Back What You Can: Taking more than you need to thrive prevents others from reaching their potential. Give what you do not need to those without enough.
  • Protect What Is Yours Fiercely: Do not allow others to take what you need for survival. Excersize your wrath on those who would bring you low.
  • Embrace Obscurity: Glory is not needed in service of Ucara. Chase results, not recognition.
  • Celebrate Hidden Triumphs: Though success may often come through hidden means, do not let it pass unnoticed among you. Celebrate when you can, even if the reasons remain cloaked.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Ucara's greatest purpose is freeing people from their constraints, whether they be physical or mental. Followers of Ucara are encouraged to free slaves and other prisoners when they can. In open conflict, Ucara's followers do not take prisoners, but rather they excersize the Archons Wrath.

Ucara seeks to break the existing societal bonds and supports criminal enterprises to do so. Loose criminal organizations are preferred to rigid societal structures that lead to nobility keeping people locked in rigid roles.
