• Empyrean Studies: Through the use of standard soul pacts adapted from demonic patronage, a method of compelling acceptance of resurrection was developed. While this requires complete agreement for the pact to be made, it cannot be cancelled once initiated. This has allowed us to truly explore the destination of a soul. With the abundance of diamonds in the mine, we were able to revive souls repeatedly. Subject 019 had reached a total of 377 resurrections before being unable to perceive reality. Determining what made him different was the primary direction of research.
• Organ transplantation: Exploring what makes a being itself, we have swapped various organs of creatures. Though few last long, it seems that the heart is the location where strength comes, and the mind is a combination of the brain and the gall bladder.
• Cult studies: It is important that we keep tight control over goblin society, and cult design is critical to this end. All cults must ultimately instill the proper fear and respect of hobgoblins in goblin society, and determining the most efficient way to filter goblins to the cult that will push them in the right direction is an unending pursuit.
• Memory editing: How much of a being is tied to their memory? We have recorded the memories of a small group of hobgoblins and have been replacing the memories of groups of goblins to determine if they could be brought to the level of the hobgoblins through this method. As more memories were replaced, both promising signs of acquired knowledge and distressing signs of psychosis appeared.
