Delle Bellfiend

Delle Bellfiend was a succubus bounty hunter that operated in Avernus throughout the 15th century. She was killed by the Lost Star Detectives in 1497 while attempting to retrieve the Shield of the Hidden Lord.  

History

  At some point prior to the 15th century, Delle Bellfiend either joined or was drafted in to one of Hell's Blood Legions, rising to become an optio in the In-ni-ma division, made up entirely of succubi and incubi.   During the outbreak of the Rift War in 1411, Delle's division was among the multitude of infernal legions that were thrown into chaos and disarray from the initial baatorian assault, and her division was rallied by the recently freed Zariel in 1412 to drive the baatorian hoard off. During the Battle of Lost Memories, the In-na-ma division was almost entirely destroyed during their strike across the River Styx, and Delle barely managed to survive. She also saved the orthon primus Azzimon from drowning, and the two of them recovered on the bank of the Styx while the battle was won, reflecting on their own lost pasts.   Following the battle, both Azzimon and Delle left the Blood Legions, becoming bounty hunters and respected rivals to one another. Delle soon developed her preferred method of combat, finding and charming a variety of imps to do her bidding through the use of magically-charged water. Her "special imps" or "s-imps," as she called them, would often fight and die on Delle's behalf, keeping her safe during dangerous contracts.   In 1497, during the Damnation of Elturel, a bounty was put up for the Shield of the Hidden Lord by Zariel, now archduke of Avernus. Delle and Azzimon both took the contract, clashing with the Lost Star Detectives, the adventurers who possessed the shield, throughout Elturel.   During Delle's second clash with the Detectives on the bridge known as Torm's Blade, the Detective Dzarya was killed. Delle offered the Detectives a deal to bring Dzarya back if they gave her the shield, but Arcus Miursa, the wielder of the shield, threatened to throw himself off of the bridge and into the Styx if it was traded. Unable to talk Arcus down, the Detectives managed to slay Delle, and subsequently were able to revive Dzarya with the aid of Caelum and Vela Eridanus.
