Session 1: The Sapphire City Report
General Summary
Sir Abel, captain of Lord Barranzo’s Guard, relieves his second in command Sir Lysa Chorce from gaurd duty and notices, Benedict, a Dwarven wanderer from the woods, Wallace, a half giant priest of Gung’Bao, and Jerimiah Jullien, an exiled verdant noble. They all meet outside the ruby gate of Lindaphal. From there, the four travelers move about the city together, meeting the curious characters who inhabbit the Dirt Slums. Bennedict and Jerimiah meet an elderly gnomish man taking bets about tommorow's tourney while Wallace nearly starts a fight with two orcish produce sellers. Bennedict bonds with the gnome leopald over their shared faith, while Wallace is saved by Sir Abel, Wallace then bets 3 coins on himself to win the melee at the tourney and goes off to find a place to sign up. Leopald offer's Bennedict room and board for the night if he needs some. The party stumbles upon Fredrick Farquar, the master of ceramonies, attempting to get any last minute registrations from the small folk of the Dirt Slums. Wallace signs up for the melee while Bennedict signs up to joust on his Axe Beak Shanie'quwah. The Party then made their way deeper into the slums, finding a stable to keep the axe beak in for the night as well as a run down establishment called, BrownBowl Tavern and Tea. There they find the owner, a dwarven woman named Grenda, kick out a brutush human man for flirting with her daughter. Wallace and Jerimiah earn a place to stay for the night by repainting the run down sign above the tavern door. After eating and bathing the gang decides to head up to the Sapphire Keep, where Sir Abel has arranged to meet his mentor Sir Arstan Bellwart. After walking the Sapphire Road they are let into the keep, a lavishly decorated castle of white stone and blue roofing. Once they get inside the central keep they attempt to climb the General's Tower, but Bennedict slips and falls down several flights of Stairs after refusing to dry himself after his bath. Outside the entrance to Arstan's Quarter's Captain Abel reunites with Sir Cain Tumble, and then invites himself in to visit Arstan. The 2 catch up over Galifrey Wine while Arstan is amused by Bennedict's Druidic Powers. Afterward Sir Abel climbs the stairs to meet Lord Daemyon while the rest of the group split off for the day. Wallace attempts to flirt, while Jerimiah explores the cities sewers. Abel retires to his tent outside the city while Bennedict accepts Leopalds offer of room and board. Wallace and Jerimiah take the room above BrownBowl Tavern And Tea but are woken late at night by the brutish human who was kicked out and his friend destroying the store. Hearing the comotion Bennedict rushes over and uses his water magic to save the store when a fire breaks out. Jerrimiah and defeat and kill Jasper the human, and decide to dump his body in the sewers. As they despose of the corpse fireworks sound off from the castle signaling it to be midnight and the offical start to the festivities.
