Cent Circle

In the Starlight Frontier, the implementation of infrastructure is paramount. The structure of the upmost import in the collective identity of the Resonant Collective is the structure that has been come to be called the "Cent Circle." Built in the form of a giant ring, the building itself serves as the communications hub, the power plant, the town hall, and a rec center. These are all the functions that keep any frontier town functional, internally cohesive, and integrated with the other settlements and cities. The building itself is not what makes this the cultural keystone that it is, however. Each frontier town has a tradition of turning the grounds around the Cent Ring into a city park. These parks have been developed over the years to establish and display the identity of these towns, those hearts of those who live there and the spirits of those who founded them. As a result, it has become well understood that if one goes to any town, on any world in the Resonant Collective, going to the Cent Circle to get your bearings is a ritual. Not physical bearing, but as an acknowledgement we all hail from the same place. Over the centuries since neo-humanity has set out for the stars, this expectation has turned every town’s central park into something sacred. Even the most tourist trap cities and towns in the stars can't help but take a fair bit of pride in the city they come from or the space they helped build. A region they continue to nurture. This cultural acknowledgement has led to a set of traditions in the Starlight Frontier. The first of which is that the Cent Circle is the first building to be completed. There might, in any given home, be one stone out of place, on window left unaligned, or a single roofing tile missing, but whatever each home’s choice they respect their town’s place as their home. The second is that the region around the park is left bare until it is complete. This is to make way for the town’s central park. The third is that a city holiday is held on the day of the Cent Circle’s completion every year thereafter.
