Sulcus
Demographics
Sulcus' population is almost entirely populated by Cebrelian Common Zombies, with a few non permanent residents including Spiderlings, which they will offer shelter during turbulent weather, or the occasional Naga. (Despite naga being generally solitary and prone to eating anything with a reasonable risk to reward ratio, naga and zombies get along surprisingly well. Zombie communities are typically isolated from other sapient species, making them easier to approach for the naga, and zombies are poisonous to the naga, and as such naga never eat zombies.)
Government
Sulcus is entirely self governed, lead by a mayor who is elected yearly. As the population of Sulcus is relatively small, the voting process is direct and does not involve any kind of electoral or political parties. Zombie communities are also prone to giving their elders some degree of control in their communities, which means that while zombies past a certain age cannot participate in the government outside of voting or volunteer work, they still have a high degree of social sway.
The elders of Sulcus form a kind of unofficial governance, which exclusively handle civil matters. This includes disagreements between individuals or managing community projects such as communal gardens, kitchens, or shelters.
Defences
The majority of Sulcus' buildings are built elevated from the ground in the trees, or on stilts for more temporary buildings, to deter attacks from large animals such as kadiams. The wider territory is also surrounded by a large section of fencing, though the fence is more of a gesture to keep children and livestock in the community than to keep anything else out.
Industry & Trade
Sulcus rarely trades with other communities as it generally aims to be self sufficient, but is known to trade lifestock with naga and spiderlings for their assistance with construction or gathering, and on occasion other goods.

Infrastructure
Sulcus sources the majority of its electricity from a combination of watermills in the nearby river Cochil and a geothermal plant knowingly utilizing Hivix's ley lines. As of 9213 of the Fifth Era Sulcus began research into the viability of bioreactors, which was taken on by Cerebellum University in Corpari of 9233 of the Fifth Era.
The main source of water in Sulcus is from the same water they use for their watermills. Their watermills are downstream of where they source their water for agricultural use and consumption. The water is filtered by multiple tanks of fairy moss, strangling prickleweed, and lotuses.
Sulcus also possesses a sewer and chemical treatment plant, but all of it is subterranean, despite the residential buildings of Sulcus being built elevated to the trees to keep away from bugs and large predators. This leads to a lot of hanging bridges and even hanging storage buildings, which are difficult to navigate for those with mobility aids. There are efforts to refine the structure of the bridges to make. basic navigation plausible, but it is slow going as Sulcus has little to no access to heavy machinery for construction.
History
Sulcus was founded by a large horde of migratory zombies who were fleeing from New Taragon in Terria of 1766 of the Fifth Era.
Architecture
Sulcus's primary building materials are dewbark wood, clay, raffia cloth, and rayon, but they also sometimes use cement. Most of the material is untreated by the standards of other species, wood being sanded down and treated to keep bugs out but not varnished or painted. Roofing is typically made of layers upon layers of cloth and thick boards of wood.
Geography
Sulcus is located on the river Cochil, in the rain forests of Physoni.
Climate
As Sulcus is in a rain forest, it is rare for it to not be raining. It is extremely humid and very warm for Hivix as a dimension.
