Siren's Song

Effect

Siren's Song convinces those within hearing range of the caster to believe what they are saying, be more inclined to agree with them, or do something they would otherwise not agree to. This does not directly include convincing the target or targets to harm themselves or others, but can and has been used to escalate the circumstances of a target or targets until they can be convinced to do so via mundane means. This does, however, assume that the target or targets are already individuals which could be escalated to that point.

Ex. An average person cannot be prompted directly to violence, but could be told someone has significantly wronged them. After the spell is cast, they may be suggested that they should seek retribution somehow. The caster cannot force them to choose violence, but can suggest it directly.

Side/Secondary Effects

The casting of Siren's Song will go unnoticed by those within range, even if the effects are noticeable or recognized. The only exception to this rule is the spell being detected by magical sensory or an individual with high resistance or immunity.

The vocal components of the spell are processed as something mundane, if not unusual depending on the context of the situation and the individual.

Siren's Song remains effective when played on secondary perceptive means, such as speakers or recordings. The intent behind the song cannot be changed retroactively, so the recording will have the same effect each time the recording is played.

Manifestation

The only consistent observable sensory of Siren's Song is the component song itself, which makes detecting its usage especially difficult. There are some cases of other indicators of the spell's usage across individuals or other species.

Most notably some species with bioluminescence display similar features to the glowing scales of sirens.

Discovery

Siren's Song is a mimicry of the natural ability of sirens. It does not behave identically but functionally has the same effect.

Material Components

Siren's Song requires access to pink and purple chroma to cast. The caster can use a focus if they do not have a multicolored soul or a pink or purple soul.

A caster can forgo learning the spell by attuning to a Siren's Voice, an amulet allowing the free casting of the spell, and using it as a focus.

Gestures & Ritual

To cast Siren's Song, a caster must be able to sing for the two minute casting time, and must be able to be heard by their desired target or targets.
