Cauterization
Effect
Cauterization burns the tissue of animals, rapidly clotting their blood and preventing infection at the point of contact with the caster. Use on plant and fungal tissue is ill-advised as the positive effects of cauterization do not apply to them and will only cause harm. Use on inorganic beings is highly varied, though sees some positive use on living armor and golems.
Manifestation
Cauterization causes a warm red glow to emanate from the point of contact between the caster and their "target", and is often accompanied by the smell of burning flesh. This is not an innate effect of the spell, but rather the byproduct of burning tissue.
Cauterization requires access to red chroma to cast. The caster can use a red focus if they do not have a red soul.
While Cauterization is easy to learn and cast, to actually be used for emergency aid purposes the caster must possess precise control, which is difficult to achieve.
