The Storm Baron

Background
Baron Reinhardt von Strum was a gifted aerospace engineer and Luftwaffe officer whose obsession with weather manipulation and aerial supremacy drove him to extremes. When the Nazi high command rejected his storm weaponry, he stole an elite fleet of experimental aircraft and loyal scientists, vanishing into the Pacific. From this betrayal, the Storm Baron was born—a tyrant of the skies who rejected all national allegiances and carved his own empire in the clouds.
Commanding the flying fortress Donnerkrieg, he became a rogue warlord and technological terror, striking military convoys, coastal cities, and any who defied him with artificial hurricanes, lightning weaponry, and fleets of storm-powered aircraft. Though originally developed during WWII, his crusade continued into the early Cold War era, escalating to a global threat.
In 1953, the Allied hero Solaris led a daring assault on Donnerkrieg, culminating in the fortress’s destruction during a massive storm event. The Baron’s body was never recovered, sparking decades of conspiracy theories and whispered rumors. Sightings of strange aircraft and storm-powered tech persist to this day—hinting that either von Strum survived… or his followers endure.
  Personality
The Storm Baron was a larger-than-life figure—grandiose, ruthless, and utterly convinced of his superiority. He viewed war as a proving ground for greatness and believed only the strongest minds and wills deserved to rule. Though originally a nationalist, he abandoned Nazi ideology in favor of his own authoritarian vision of aerial dominion.
He carried himself like a living god of the skies, often speaking in apocalyptic proclamations and reveling in theatrical displays of power. His charisma was magnetic, drawing devoted followers who saw him not as a war criminal, but as a visionary. He saw surrender as weakness and hubris as strength—an outlook that ultimately led to his downfall in the face of Solaris’ unrelenting light.
