The Red Redeemer

Background
Millie Jones grew up in a working-class family in Parma, Ohio. Her father worked long hours at a steel plant, while her mother, a devout Baptist, tried to hold the family together. Despite her mother’s best efforts, their home was far from stable. Her father was emotionally distant, struggling with his own anger issues and alcoholism, while her mother often turned to faith to cope with the household’s tension. Millie’s childhood was marked by financial struggles, domestic discord, and a deep sense of not being good enough.
As a teenager, Millie sought escape in reckless behavior. When she and her friends dared each other to explore an abandoned industrial site—later revealed to be a hidden supervillain lair—she accidentally activated a prototype genetic augmentation device. The event activated her latent metagene, granting her powers, but it left her friends severely injured and caused her to carry deep guilt.
Millie’s powers allowed her to join the junior ranks of registered heroes at a young age under the alias "The Red Sentinel." She rose quickly, gaining admiration for her abilities and drive. However, unresolved trauma from her past—combined with the pressure of being a hero and a young mother—led her to spiral into self-destructive behavior, including alcohol abuse and emotional outbursts. Her marriage crumbled, her daughter was taken into her ex-husband’s custody, and her registration was revoked after a public incident of misconduct.
Hitting rock bottom, Millie decided to change. She quit drinking, sought therapy, and returned to her faith, finding solace in the ideals of redemption and salvation. Now, as the Red Redeemer, she operates outside the system, protecting those overlooked by society and seeking to atone for her past.
  Personality
Millie is a deeply compassionate person driven by guilt and a desire to atone for her past. She carries herself with humility, fully aware of her flaws and the harm she caused during her fall from grace. Though she has a no-nonsense attitude and sharp wit, she is fiercely protective of the vulnerable and believes in second chances. Her faith, rediscovered after hitting rock bottom, serves as her guiding light, but she still struggles with doubt, guilt, and the temptation to fall back into old habits.
