Background
  David Martin grew up as a highly intelligent child with an insatiable curiosity. His intelligence, combined with certain behavioral tendencies, led to numerous diagnoses throughout his life — obsessive-compulsive disorder, autism spectrum, attention deficit, paranoia, even schizotypal disorder. Though he accepted these labels, David never let them define him; to him, they were just terms used by people to make sense of his unconventional mind.
  As a child, David had an incredible knack for unraveling complex puzzles, solving riddles, and finding answers to questions that others considered impossible. His keen intellect led him to become an expert in pattern recognition and logic, talents that could have easily led him into fields like investigative work or journalism. However, David's passion was in sparking joy and curiosity in others, and he pursued a career in toy design, believing that puzzles and games could bring the same sense of wonder he felt to others. Together with his best friend, Andrew Gagnon, he co-founded Martin & Gagnon Toys, creating intricate puzzles and clever toys that challenged and inspired.
  Everything changed when Andrew was found dead, his death ruled as a suicide by the authorities. David knew better; he knew his friend would never take his own life. Stricken by grief and driven by a need for justice, David resolved to investigate Andrew's death. It was this tragedy that led David to become the vigilante known as the Dark Diviner. He donned an armored trench coat, a wide-brimmed hat, and a dark mask, transforming himself into a faceless force for uncovering hidden truths.
  David uncovered a complex conspiracy involving the Scottish Mafia, political corruption, and a power-hungry kingpin — all of which had led to Andrew's death. His obsessive drive, sharp intellect, and unmatched attention to detail allowed him to bring the guilty to justice, exposing the hidden rot within Ottawa's power structures. Though it brought him closure, it also awakened David to the extent of corruption in his city. He realized how many other lost causes were being ignored, and how many truths remained buried beneath Ottawa's polished surface.
  This realization drove him to continue as the Dark Diviner, using his talents to unravel conspiracies, fight crime, and shed light on the shadows of Ottawa.
