Sirraco

Background:
Born to Lebanese immigrant parents in Mississauga, Ontario, Layla Rouhani grew up in a close-knit family with strong cultural ties to Lebanon. From a young age, she exhibited signs of being different, though her powers did not fully manifest until she was 13. At first, Layla struggled to control her abilities—gusts of wind would whip through her room when she was upset, and her body temperature would spike drastically during moments of intense emotion.
As her powers became more evident, her family, though supportive, worried for her safety and that of others. Layla was eventually recruited to Oakview Academy for Special Students, where she began learning to harness her abilities. There, she adopted the alias Sirraco, a name inspired by the scorching desert winds that mirrored her powers. Despite her struggles with control, Layla is determined to master her abilities and use them to protect her loved ones and her community.
Personality: Layla is confident, independent, and has a quick wit, often surprising those around her with her sharp tongue. Despite her outward bravado, she struggles internally with the fear of losing control of her powers, particularly the heat aspect, which can spike unexpectedly during high emotions. She can be intense, and her passion sometimes leads to impulsive decisions, but her loyalty to her friends and family is unshakable.
Layla’s Lebanese heritage is a source of pride for her, and she frequently blends aspects of her cultural background into her identity as Sirraco. She is protective of her community and sees her powers as both a gift and a responsibility, aiming to use them to fight for justice.
Though still young and mastering her powers, Sirraco is well on her way to becoming a force to be reckoned with, both as a hero and a symbol of strength for others like her.
