Sergeant Avalanche

Background:
Leif Rasmussen is a proud Canadian, born and raised in the rugged wilderness of Whitehorse, Yukon. The vast landscapes and harsh climate instilled in him a deep respect for nature, a strong sense of self-reliance, and an unwavering patriotism. Even before the war, Leif displayed unusual abilities, a natural psychic talent that manifested in the form of cryokinesis – the power to control ice and cold. He kept these abilities hidden, unsure of how they would be perceived.
When World War II erupted, Leif felt a profound sense of duty. He saw the fight against the Axis powers as a crucial battle against tyranny, a fight that extended beyond national borders and represented a struggle for freedom itself. Driven by this conviction, he eagerly joined the Canadian Army, determined to do his part to liberate Europe and defend the values he held dear.
He quickly proved his physical prowess and leadership skills. During a mission behind enemy lines in Italy, his latent psychic abilities were amplified by a near-fatal encounter with a downed experimental German aircraft. The strange energy emanating from the wreckage interacted with his latent psychic abilities, strengthening his cryokinetic powers significantly and revealing their full potential. He now serves as both a combat leader and a unique asset for the Allied forces, as a member of the elite AFSO (Allied Forces Special Operations) team. The AFSO was established by the British as a united effort to focus the superhuman assets of the Allied nations into one specialized operating force. Leif's unique powers and exceptional military record made him a prime candidate for recruitment, and he was seconded to the unit, a testament to the importance of his abilities in the fight against the Axis powers.
  Personality:
Brave, selfless, determined, loyal, patriotic to Canada and the allied forced, humble, resourceful, natural leader, carries the weight of command, haunted by war, struggles with the responsibility of his powers, a "strong, silent" type, not boastful, dry wit, resourceful, adaptable, deep connection to nature. He is reserved and somewhat stoic, a product of his upbringing and the weight of his responsibilities. He finds it difficult to open up about his psychic abilities, even to trusted comrades. He is a stern, no-nonsense Sergeant, dedicated to his duty and the success of his team. He is known for his signature tactic of creating ice armor and weapons, then wading into the thick of combat, a fearsome and inspiring sight for his fellow soldiers. He has a particular dislike for propaganda that dehumanizes the enemy, believing that even in war, basic human decency should prevail.
