Night-Life

Background:
Natalie Parker's life took a chilling turn at the age of seven. A freckle-faced, pig-tailed blonde girl, she was full of life and laughter until her family moved into a house with a dark and violent history. The house was a nexus of evil, a place where murder, black magic, and unspeakable deeds had left a lingering stain on the fabric of reality. Her family, dismissive of the local legends and ghost stories, soon learned the horrifying truth.
Natalie and her family were subjected to terrors beyond human comprehension. But the worst was yet to come. Natalie was possessed by something utterly malign, an entity so ancient and powerful that its true nature remained a mystery. Was it a ghost? A demon? Something else entirely? The possession lasted for nearly a month, a period of unimaginable horror and violation. Finally, after three grueling days of struggle, a priest managed to exorcise the being that had taken root within her.
But the exorcism, whether botched or simply insufficient, did not fully cleanse Natalie. The evil spirit, tenacious and full of darkness and hate, left a part of itself behind. The transformation was immediate and chilling. Her skin became as white as snow, her eyes two solid pools of inky blackness, her hair as dark as sin. Her emotions became muted, painted in shades of gray, save for sorrow and despair, which came far too easily, making her prone to fits of melancholia and depression. Her touch became cold, unsettling, clammy. Her voice, once bright and cheerful, became cold and disquieting. Natalie was cold – cold to touch, cold to hear, cold to look at. And in that coldness came power.
  Personality:
Natalie is the picture of the cool, calm, and collected goth girl. Her outward demeanor is one of serene detachment, a carefully constructed facade that hides a deep well of introspection and emotional complexity. Beneath the surface, she secretly yearns to experience the full spectrum of human emotions – the joy, love, anger, and happiness that seem to come so easily to others. She often observes the vibrant emotions of her teammates with a mixture of envy and fascination, wondering what it would be like to feel so intensely.
She struggles with depression, a constant battle against the darkness that threatens to engulf her. But it is in this struggle that she finds her greatest strength. She has learned that sorrow is fleeting, that even the darkest night will eventually give way to dawn. She clings to hope, even when it seems like a distant flicker, and she refuses to give up the fight, both against her inner demons and the external threats that face her and her team. This resilience is a key part of her personality, a quiet determination that underlies her melancholic exterior.
Her "wet blanket" persona is partly a defense mechanism, a way to keep others at arm's length, but it's also a reflection of her genuine concern for her friends' well-being. She may not express her emotions openly, but she cares deeply for the Miscreants, and her quiet support is often the anchor that keeps them grounded. She is fiercely protective of her teammates, willing to unleash the full force of her chilling powers to defend them. She often acts as the voice of reason, the one who reminds the others to think before they act, even if they tease her for being overly cautious.
She finds a strange solace in her online persona as a goth cam girl, connecting with others through the shared language of darkness and introspection. It's a way for her to express herself creatively and to connect with people who understand her unique perspective. Her college studies provide her with a sense of purpose and a distraction from her inner turmoil. She is a paradox – a creature of darkness who secretly longs for the light, a melancholic soul who embodies resilience, a "wet blanket" who is fiercely loyal and deeply caring. She is Night-Life, and she is more than just a collection of shadows and sorrow. She is a fighter, a survivor, and a beacon of hope in the darkness.
