Commander Carapace

Background:
Carapace is not a man—not anymore. He is the spine of Widowmaker’s blade, the one who holds the strike squads in absolute lockstep. Once a decorated a Champion in the Crucible Arenas, he was mortally wounded during a failed rebellion purge. Rather than allow a rare tactical mind to die, S.W.A.R.M. repurposed him under Directive Veilglass.
His rebirth stripped him of identity, voice, and memory. What remained was rebuilt into a combat-synchronized commander construct—capable of directing S.K.E.L.E.T.A.L. operations with sub-second efficiency.
He speaks only through codified bursts, processed by his unit as instinct rather than orders. His consciousness now operates parallel to his squad, moving six minds as one machine.
Widowmaker handpicked him. Some believe he was once her failure. Others believe he chose to serve beneath her as the only superior he respects. Either way—when Carapace arrives, the operation is already being measured in seconds.
  Personality:
Carapace doesn’t speak in the traditional sense. He moves, and others follow. His presence dampens ambient noise, not by design but by reputation—soldiers grow quiet when he’s near. He exhibits no emotion, no deviation, and no hesitation. Even fellow S.W.A.R.M. elites refer to him as The Dead Commander.
Despite this, he is respected without question. His kills are clean. His teams are efficient. And if Widowmaker is called off a mission, Carapace completes it anyway. Because loyalty isn’t about belief—it’s about function. He functions perfectly.
