Belial
Background
Belial—whose name has been translated as "worthless," "lawless," and "without a master"—is one of the most ancient and infamous infernal kings. His identity spans mythologies and scriptures, with some even conflating him with The lord of hell himself. He does not refute this title; in fact, he wears it like a crown. Belial is a fallen angel of considerable might and mystery. Unlike others who weep for their fall or deny it, he embraces his corruption and flaunts it. He never speaks of which choir he once belonged to in the celestial hierarchy—whether Dominion, Virtue, or Throne—and instead mocks such order. He leads the Sons of Darkness, a cabal of rebellious fallen angels and corrupt spirits who believe freedom lies in chaos, desire, and indulgence.
He is also the spiritual figurehead of a mortal cult known as the Sons of Belial, one of the most ancient and corrupt groups to exist across time. These cults often hold political, financial, or aristocratic power in the mortal world, acting as quiet influencers of rot from within.
Though deeply lawless, Belial is no mere brute. He is seductive, clever, and fluent in every language of guilt, shame, and temptation. His power lies in coaxing darkness from within others, feeding it, and freeing it with no concern for consequence. Where Asmodeus rules the casinos, Belial rules the dive bars and back alleys.
Personality
Belial is the eternal bad boy—the charming con artist, the sly devil in a silk shirt, the villain who seduces before he stabs. He is wicked to the core, but never dishonest about it. He disdains hypocrisy, preaches indulgence, and despises all who pretend virtue while hiding rot.
His sense of humor is black as pitch and sharp as a razor. He loves breaking false idols and drawing saints into sin just to watch their descent. To Belial, rules are prisons, order is a lie, and sin is the most honest part of the soul.
In a court of devils, Belial is the wild card—the charming bastard you know you shouldn't trust but always do anyway.
