Vinnie the Mouse

Vincent Joseph Whiskerwick (a.k.a. The Mouse-Father, Vinnie the Squeak, The Gentleman Rogue, The Bolthole Baron)

Vincent “Vinnie” Whiskerwick is a legend—depending on who you ask, a swashbuckling hero, criminal mastermind, gentleman scoundrel, or myth made fur. He is best known (or infamously known) in the magical community as the Mouse-Father, a title whispered among rootcellar syndicates, alley fae, and gutter sprites with equal parts fear and admiration.
Vinnie presents himself as a gentleman rogue—a slightly oversized brown deer mouse with keen black eyes, fully opposable thumbs, and a flair for drama. He often wears a tattered handkerchief cape and carries a rapier fashioned from a sharpened darning needle, rumored to be enchanted. His voice is smooth, with a coastal drawl that suggests he's seen the inside of many tea tins and the underside of many highborn carriages.
Though he claims to have been born in a bread drawer in Glastonbury, and educated by a hedge wizard’s pet corgi, little is certain about his origins. What is known: Vinnie is a master spy, a legendary thief, and perhaps the most widely recognized Sooterkin in living memory.
The question of whether he truly leads a magical rodent mafia—the so-called Whiskerwick Syndicate—remains hotly debated. Tales abound of:
Heists from royal fae courts, where only a single walnut was taken—because it contained a seed of truth.
Sabotaging ratcatchers' contracts, leaving behind tiny notes signed "With Squeaking Regards."
Freeing captured familiars from unscrupulous warlocks, allegedly disguised as a jam jar.
Rodents of all kinds, from mundane mice to enchanted clockwork voles, often nod or pause when Vinnie passes, as if bound by some ancient debt—or fear of being outwitted.
Like most Sooterkin, Vinnie has no qualms about becoming a familiar—but only to those he personally deems worthy. The standards are:
  Bravery without bluster
  Wit sharper than his sword
No fear of mice or mischief
Those lucky enough to earn his loyalty gain a companion of unmatched stealth, streetwise wisdom, and high-society sarcasm. He often offers unsolicited advice, critiques fashion choices, and insists on a daily treat of “the good cheddar.” or "A nice handful of seeds".
Among fae courts, Vinnie is seen as either:
A trickster agent of balance, sowing chaos to expose hubris.
A criminal embarrassment to “proper fae society.”
Or a living folk hero of the underfolks—champion of the forgotten, the small, and the squeaky.
It is whispered in the Goblin Market that one of the fey queens has a bounty on his head… while the Lord of Hollow Logs owes him three yet to be paid favors.
